Summary
The Director, Finance provides financial expertise and functional oversight within the Finance organization in a leadership capacity. This Director serves as a key influence on the mission and vision of the department.
Responsibilities
  • Serve as a point person for ad hoc requests from other departments.
  • Responsible for department deliverables in area of expertise; provide guidance to team members.
  • Provide input and leadership regarding resource prioritization, allocation of resources, and performance assessment of employees.
  • Oversee Statement of Work contract language with external vendors.
  • Direct major change initiatives; ensure quality of work and delivery within timelines/budget.
  • Lead multiple teams and projects within a department of related but separate functions.
  • Participate in budget planning and overall expense management
Qualifications
  • Advanced computer skills in MS Office, Excel and financial business systems
  • Requires a graduate degree in mathematics, actuarial science, finance, business, or related field
  • Organizational and prioritization skills
  • Extensive knowledge of assigned business area (e.g. investments, premiums, corporate finance)
  • Strong leadership and people management skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate, orally and in writing, to diverse audiences
  • 12 years of accounting/finance experience including eight years of management experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • Possess excellent understanding of investment and finance concepts, and be able to creatively apply them in solving problems in the business setting
  • CPA/advanced degree
  • Insurance experience
  • Excellent understanding of investment and insurance products

The Salary for this position generally ranges between $150,000-$190,000 annually. This range is an estimate, based on potential qualifications and operational needs. Salary may vary above and below the stated amounts, as permitted by applicable law.
Additionally, this position is typically eligible for an Annual Bonus based on the Company Bonus Plan/Individual Performance and is at Company discretion.
