Position Summary:
As the Director of Finance for Manufacturing Operations, you will be a strategic business partner of Operational leaders and Finance leads for all aspects of manufacturing and supply chain activities across multiple production sites. This position reports to the Chief Financial Officer.


Key Responsibilities:


Monitoring of operational performance
  • Challenge performance based on industry benchmark, past performance, best internal achievements, improvement programs to help deliver or exceed the operational and financial commitments.
  • Adequately review the current practices and processes.
  • Provide insights into all conversion cost components (direct labor, plant overhead, production yields). Recommends and implements techniques to improve productivity, increase efficiencies, cut costs, take advantage of opportunities, and maintain best-in-class practices.

Reporting on Operational performance
  • Develop efficient, effective and repeatable financial reports on all key performance indicators.
  • Present timely and relevant financial reporting and analysis to Site and Functional leaders.
  • Work with the corporate finance team and participate in monthly financial close as needed.
  • Perform/review monthly variance review of P&L results. Prepare Management presentation material and present for monthly forecast/close meetings, & operational meetings and QBRs
  • Develop annual and quarterly operational and financial targets


Build and consolidate detailed annual budget
  • Develop regular forecasts relying on IBP to create monthly, quarterly and full-year estimates that incorporate known and perceived headwinds and tailwinds.
  • Inform and validate product costing for all manufacturing, supply chain and Procurement activities.
  • Lead annual Site and Functional Budget process including development/analysis of budget targets, developing, communicating and driving the budget timeline, creating budget templates, creating/maintaining budget roll-up files, preparing budget deliverables for Site Management and BU Leadership Team.


Validate investment plan
  • Independently screen and select CAPEX projects based on ROI, fit with short term and long term Commercial and Operational strategy
  • Confirm financial viability and return of efficiency and growth initiatives. Develop models to support CapEx projects and continuous improvement projects

  • Document policies and procedures.
  • Evaluate and maintain internal controls across all key operational activities
  • Propose recommendations to improve internal controls and gain visibility on performance levers.
  • Install controls and train users across the supply chain to execute within the framework of established guidelines and controls.

Qualifications

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work with all levels of management and with all levels of finance expertise
  • Demonstrated leadership experience. 5-10 years supervisory experience or equivalent cross functional project leadership.
  • Desired Bachelor’s degree in accounting or Finance with a minimum of 8 years progressive experience in the Finance/Accounting field
  • Experience with financial system implementation & restructuring processes
  • 5-10 years experience in manufacturing and supply chain in an industrial environment is required.
  • Superior analytical skills and strong attention to detail balanced by a keen ability to integrate the broader strategic picture.
