Job Description

Summary

The primary role of the Managing Director Technology and Finance Partnerships, within the Save the Children US Corporate Partnerships team is to harness the potential of technology, consulting and financial companies to deliver greater impact for children. An ideal candidate would have experience working at a consulting firm on a tech or finance portfolio that required them to develop and deliver strategic, high-value partnerships across a range of objectives as well as a diverse set of corporate functions and stakeholders.

The goal for the successful candidate will be to collaborate with teams in the US and around the world to grow and/or create two, $10million+ annual partnerships for SCUS by end 2025, as well as build a pipeline of prospective partnerships poised to deliver another $20M in the subsequent 1-2 years. These partnerships will be strategically important to both Save the Children and the corporate partner(s) and deliver value across a range of measures including cash, brand-building, lead generation, organizational efficiency and programmatic effectiveness.

Reporting to the Senior Managing Director and partnering across the corporate team and other SCUS functions, you will leverage your corporate networks to enhance the strong capabilities already present within the corporate team to grow these relationships in key markets around the world. You will also represent Save the Children as a leader in the sector through external panels and publications.


What You’ll Be Doing (Essential Duties)

Create the vision and lead the team that works with companies in the tech, finance and consulting industries (35%)

  • Oversee the delivery of team goals by leading on account strategic planning processes, new business prospecting, opportunity sizing, initial outreach/door opening, pitch material development, VP and above/C-suite level partner relationship cultivation, contract negotiation, high level problem-solving, and supporting the relevant team(s) as needed.
  • Develop a clear, compelling and differentiated vision for the Enablers team.
  • Build out operational strategies and define/develop key partnership offerings to bring that vision to life through a robust portfolio of partnerships.
  • Ensure best-in-class account management practices are established and followed, with focus on account growth, stewardship and retention, including strong reporting and promotion of our joint successes.
  • Train, develop, coach, lead, and supervise staff, clearly communicating organization, division and department priorities, and how their work contributes to our mission, ensuring that the working environment continually fosters diversity, inclusion, and belonging – supporting Save the Children values
  • Closely monitor internal and external trends to continually inform and evolve strategies, offerings and plans.
  • Team planning, budgeting and overarching strategy development across Corporate and where relevant, and with other cross agency teams, such as Business Technology Solutions and International Programs, to ensure the right partner strategies and engagements are defined and executed with excellence, in line with partner expectations.
  • Drive Agency goals for fundraising, and beyond cash, for strategic goals around Digital and Data, Movement of Millions, Brand Visibility, Advocacy, Employee Engagement and Workplace Giving.

Provide direct global leadership on 1-2 of Save the Children’s most valuable partners (50%)

  • Lead the strategic vision setting of 1-2 high value and highly-complex partnerships in the technology, consulting and finance industries.
  • Define clear objectives and measures for the partnership(s), self and others.
  • Create and oversee the implementation of all applicable aspects of the partnership including (but not limited to): programmatic support; emergency program funding; cause promotions; licensing; GIK of product, media and/or expertise; workplace giving; and employee engagement; workplace giving; innovation, collective impact, technology for development and more.
  • Oversee the global execution of the relationship(s) in all markets.
  • Lead cross-agency ideation and planning sessions with key representatives, internally and externally, to develop/re-fresh strategic plans and to ensure high levels of engagement and alignment to what the partnership(s) are trying to achieve for Save the Children and the company.
  • Deliver at least $20M in cash and other revenue value annually for SCUS from these partnerships by end 2025.

External Visibility (10%)

  • Identify and secure opportunities to build Save the Children’s visibility with the corporate sector, securing speaking engagements, social media posts, and publications that recognize Save the Children’s leadership position well ahead of peer organizations.

Knowledge Sharing (5%)

  • Represent the SCUS team on cross agency working groups to support development of top 10 accounts, share best practices, support local opportunity development, or other areas as assigned.
  • Perform other duties as may be required.

Required Qualifications

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate and collaborate successfully with individuals and teams at all levels.
  • Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 20% to foster team-building and partner relationships
  • Professional proficiency in MS Office suite
  • Experience working with senior corporate executives (VP or above) within technology and finance companies.
  • Professional proficiency in spoken and written English
  • Demonstrated commitment to fostering and maintaining an environment of diversity, inclusion, and belonging.
  • Able to navigate highly complex contracts and support others by providing technical advice, guidance and direction.
  • Minimum of a Bachelor Degree or equivalent experience, plus at least 10 years of relevant experience.
  • Proven experience in securing 7-figure corporate partnerships in consulting, fundraising and/or agency environments.
  • Excels in leadership and management to deliver a high performance and high engagement environment for the team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Sales-oriented business environment (consulting firm, marketing communications agency etc.) experience
  • Experience working in social impact, with or for the tech sector or financial institutions.

Compensation

Save the Children is offering the following salary ranges for this position, dependent on candidate location:

  • Geo 3 - Locations significantly below the US National Labor Cost Average: Target Salary for this position is $107,950 – $120,650 base salary
  • Geo 1 - NY Metro, DC, and other locations with labor costs significantly above national average: Target Salary for this position is $131,750 – $147,250 base salary
  • Geo 2 - Locations around the US National Labor Cost Average: Target Salary for this position is $119,850 – $133,950 base salary

Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, base salary of internal peers, business sector, and geographic location. Employee may be eligible for an incentive program. Save the Children also offers paid vacation, accrued at least 12 days a year, depending on paygrade and length of service, paid safety and wellness leave of at least 1 day per month worked for a full time employee which is pro rata reduced for employees working less than a full time schedule, and at least 10 paid holidays a year. Employees may be eligible for additional bonus compensation.
