Job Description
Event Sales Director
The House of Cannabis (THC NYC), is an important NYC destination attraction that has the potential to revolutionize the world of cannabis. We aim to provide our guests with a multi-floor, multi-room and multi-sensory experience that educates them on the history, intricacies, and social impacts of the plant. With the legalization of cannabis in over 21 states and the growing campaign to end the stigma around cannabis, now is the perfect time to join our team and help create a safe, educational, and fun journey for our guests.
Job Summary
Director, Event Sales is a results driven leader who is focused on driving world class events to The House of Cannabis. A seasoned expert with a strong contact list who can bring new eyes to the business, the Event Sales Director is savvy in both outbound and inbound strategies.

General Duties/Responsibilities
Serve as the principal point of contact for private event inquiries and requests for the Lounge, and other exhibits in the museum
Source new event opportunities through networking, while actively building and maintaining relationships with existing customers, corporate organizations, and agencies
Develop targeted prospect lists of potential partners, find appropriate contacts for each company, and work to qualify and convert leads to sales
Conduct tours of the property with prospective clients
Coordinate with event planner/producer, F&B, AV, and Ops team to ensure a smooth operation for each event and high level of standard and satisfaction
Work with Corporate Services on negotiating and executing contracts/ agreements
Develop monthly Sales goals, budgets and strategies, introduce new ideas and report progress to management regularly
Manage and organize the event calendar/ schedule (through TripleSeat) on a monthly basis and avoid conflicts with other programmatic, partnerships or sponsorship events
Collaborate with Marketing Graphic Designer and Social Media Manager/ Agency to create promotional material and advertisements to drive event revenue
Work with Finance in preparing and analyzing operating budget and P&L statement for each event

Required Skills/Abilities
Strong understanding of basic contract negotiation with regards to events
Effective communication skills and ability to sell
Highly motivated, energetic
Ability to cross function with other teams within the organization
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in training and education.
7+ years successfully managing staff, in a dynamic hospitality, cultural or museum experiential environment.
Given the diverse and dense cultural community in New York, multilingual candidates are a plus.
Experience operating in a Landmark Buildings a plus
