Business Development
• Coordinating and executing sales efforts for events, including developing sales strategies, creating proposals, and supporting the sales team in negotiating contracts.
• Building and maintaining relationships with clients, vendors, and event partners.
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to plan and execute successful events.
• Conducting market research to identify new opportunities and trends in the event industry.
• Create event reports and analyze data to evaluate the success of events and make recommendations for future improvements.
Event Managment
•Managing event budgets and tracking expenses.
• Preparing event timelines and schedules to ensure timely and accurate execution.
• Creating event marketing materials and promotional strategies.
Industry Expertise
• Understand the Glasshouses brand and effectively communicate key differentiators to prospective and existing clients
• Maintain thorough knowledge of competitive offerings (space, technology, pricing, etc.) Attend tradeshows and industry-related events to prospect for new business
• Leverage business acumen, networking, and CRM software to implement sales and marketing plans, which strongly align with quarterly goals set in collaboration with senior management
Efficiency and Optimization
• Maintain and update all event-related information in the event booking system (familiarity with Triple Seat, Salesforce, and other event software systems a plus)
• Continuously strive towards personal development to acquire contemporary industry-standard hard and soft skills
• Work with management to ensure profitability through yield and client selection
• Evaluate the sales potential of existing relationships and identify areas for improvement and growth
Qualifications
• 2-3 years of experience in a client-facing role; concentrating on sales or venue production for events and/or hospitality industry in the New York City market
• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Sales, Hospitality, or related fields preferred
• Proven background in strategizing and executing venue and or catering/food & beverage sales
• Empathy towards customers and colleagues
• Exceptional organizational skills, strong attention to detail, and creative marketing mindset
• Proactive attitude and results-oriented, with the ability to maximize revenue, cross-sell, and provide creative solutions to clients
• Ability to manage multiple accounts and projects simultaneously, providing quick and accurate information to clients and internal stakeholders
• A team player motivated by fast-paced work environments and exhibits strong problem-solving skills.
• Strong Word, Excel, and PowerPoint skills required, working knowledge of database manipulation and CRM software operation
• Must have a flexible work schedule and be able to accommodate work schedules based on business needs.
