Job Summary:
The Content Director is a new position at Mercer Advisors that will help create, execute, and oversee a broad content strategy that meets the needs of a wide range of constituents including, but not limited to clients, prospects, advisors/RVPs, and intermediaries. As our organization grows, our ability to meet the needs of our clients and bring in new ones needs to grow with it. The Content Director will connect a data-drive approach with creative ingenuity to refine our narrative and grow our brand. This role will work closely with the Chief Marketing Officer but ultimately will partner with much of the organization to help create content that helps achieve clear and measurable goals.
Essential Job Functions for the Content Director will include:

• Develop content success metrics and platform specific KPIs
• Create, lead, and manage a team of writers with various expertise, including generalists
• Work closely with Marketing Analytics to understand the performance of each piece of content created
• Partner with multiple business units and deeply understand the unique needs of each – the Content Director is the go-to person when team members have questions or requests
• Create and manage project timelines and content team budget
• Proactively engage with the broader organization and bring innovative ideas that help to further differentiate Mercer Advisors in the market
• Develop a broad range of content including thought leadership, white papers, social content, video, podcasts, infographic, and data visualization drive specific business objectives, i.e., retention, conversion, and awareness

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Bias toward action
• SEO
• Minimum of 7 years in a content position
• Demonstrated ability to build and manage a team
• Ability to work closely with multiple teams at the same time
• Financial content creation preferred, but not necessary
• Deep knowledge of production across various media
• Capable of working in a fast-paced environment
• 3-5 years managing editors, writers, producers, and creatives
• Interest in furthering our mission, not in taking marching orders
• Achieving success means that you should be comfortable in ambiguity, enjoy problem solving, and have POV and a clear creative vision
• Exceptional written, communication, presentation, and organizational skills
• Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, or Journalism
• Working knowledge of various project management tools such as Jira and Airtable
• Managing print and online publication processes
• Microsoft Office proficient

Travel:
Ability to travel as needed to conduct in-person meetings with the field and full-team meetings
Work Location:
Remote with the ability to come into the office if located near a current Mercer Advisors office with space
Working Conditions:
Professional office environment. Working inside. Standing and sitting. Will be assigned to a work station.
