Job Description

Art Director Marketing


The Sage Group’s client, a well-known medical device company, is seeking an Art Director to join their Public Affairs team to guide a team of designers in the creation and development of creative solutions; marketing collateral, product launches, tradeshow graphics and digital applications.


The AD will work closely with the creative director to develop leading-edge concepts and marketing collateral, participate in managing the Abbott brand visually on a global scale, oversees the concept, design and execution of product campaigns, marketing collateral, trade show graphics and digital applications.


Job Duties:


  • Ensures assignments adhere to the approved brand and messaging guidelines to maintain our corporate identity.
  • Ensure concept/design consistency across client initiatives and mediums.
  • Coordinate and prioritize design efforts across campaigns and teams.
  • Guides a team of designers through the creative process.
  • Create, develop and execute more complex quality designs for marketing vehicles including print, digital and interactive mediums.
  • Present concept/design decks and storyboards to internal clients.
  • Collaborate with manager, designers, writers, other marketing team members and internal stakeholders to ensure the appropriate concepts, themes and messages are represented effectively and consistently for the business objective(s) and audience(s).


Required skills and experience to be successful:


  • Previous experience with Mac iOS environment, Adobe Creative Suite software, Microsoft Office 365 software desired.
  • At least two years of experience leading the design of projects from concept to completion.
  • Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, Visual Arts or related field.
  • Strong organizational and management skills.
  • At leastfive years art direction or senior graphic design experience within an internal or external agency.
  • Experience generating creative, innovative ideas in a short timeframe.
  • Strong conceptual and design ability with comprehensive knowledge of broadcast media.
  • At leasttwo years of experience leading design work.
  • Able to integrate the big idea through all mediums.
  • Polished client presentation skills.
  • High level of proficiency in branding, online marketing and media concepts.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating ability to concept and direct ideas, teams and final product.
  • Experience presenting information and ideas to clients and internal teams.
  • Ability to envision creative ways to leverage online ideas and technologies.


Duration: Long term contract (1 year)

Location: On-site in St. Paul, MN

Compensation: $ 40.00 hourly pay rate
