Position Overview:

NESsT is seeking a Development Associate to support the organization’s fundraising efforts as a Development team member. The Development team at NESsT is responsible for all the organization’s fundraising activities.

The Associate will perform a broad range of duties including, but not limited to, assisting with investor/donor research and outreach, data entry, writing proposals, assisting with reporting, tracking deadlines, and effectively communicating with the Development team. The Associate will report to the Development Director.

The Associate may occasionally need to travel for all-staff meetings or to NESsT’s various offices; however, travel will be minimal.

This is a position for a detail-oriented, highly motivated individual interested in supporting the growth of a long-standing entrepreneurship and impact investing organization with the opportunity for advancement.

Team Overview:

The Associate will be aligned with the Development team, which consists of NESsT’s President, CEO, and Development Director. Country Directors in Poland, Brazil, Chile/Colombia, and Peru support the Development team in its outreach efforts at the local level. The Development team oversees all fundraising activities for NESsT including raising donor and investment capital, providing donor/investor services, and building strategic initiatives.


Position Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the development of NESsT offering materials and collaborate with the global team to produce and submit proposals and reports.
  • Support management team in planning, organizing, and promoting fundraising events and campaigns
  • Support the management team in their fundraising outreach, including sending outreach materials and scheduling meetings
  • Conduct research and prospecting to multiple investor/donor sources for multiple geographies where NESsT operates programs. These sources include foundations, corporations, government funding opportunities, and individuals
  • Maintain fundraising systems (including donor database) to ensure accurate information on NESsT’s donors and investors. These systems include Salesforce Lightning, Grantseeker Fluxx, Instrumental, and Microsoft Office SharePoint.
  • Contribute to development strategy: Support the management team to identify funds needed, preferred funding targets, and approaches.

Qualifications:

  • Collaboration: Effective at working with others to reach common goals and objectives
  • Experience with Salesforce or other CRM preferred; experience with Powerpoint a plus.
  • Background in/knowledge of impact investing a plus
  • Relationship Building: Skilled at establishing and cultivating strong relationships with peers across different levels of the organization and externally
  • Development/Fundraising: Prior experience in grant writing (government and private sector) and fundraising in a nonprofit organization or business preferred. Experience with fundraising from multiple channels
  • Communications: Skilled in creating powerful, compelling written and oral communications for fundraising. Ability to convey complex ideas through brief, simple materials
  • Detail-oriented and deadline driven
  • Project Management: Prior experience in planning and coordinating projects, including coordinating with peers to achieve desired outcomes and tracking and reporting on progress

Other Position Requirements:

  • Applicable undergraduate college degree; graduate degree a plus
  • Background and interest in social entrepreneurship, impact investing, and the nonprofit sector
  • 2+ years of relevant nonprofit fundraising experience

Compensation:NESsT offers a competitive salary range for this role based on the candidate's work experience and skills.

Location:Remote, anywhere in America.

Working hours:9 a.m. –6p.m.(with a one-hour lunch break).SinceNESsTis an international organization, online meetings,training, and conferences sometimes occur outside these hours.
