JOB SUMMARY
Under the limited direction of the Reporting & Data Analyst, the Data Support Specialist is responsible for supporting the data migrations and reporting across the national network of Boys & Girls Clubs. This includes facilitating club understanding of data migration requirements and practices, as well as execution of data migrations
Responsibilities:
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Work with subject matter experts and project team to identify, define, collate, document and communicate the data migration requirements.
  • Perform source system data analysis in order to manage source to target data mapping.
  • Assist in designing, planning and managing the data migration process.
  • Work with customers in gathering business requirements for data migration needs.
  • Perform data migration audit, reconciliation and exception reporting.
  • Manage assigned risks and monitor potential impacts as part of the data migration plan.
  • Prepare data migration plans including migration risk, milestones, quality and business sign-off details.
  • Work across multiple functional projects to understand data usage and implications for data migration.
  • Perform migration and testing of static data and transaction data from one core system to another.
  • Develop best practice, processes, and standards for effectively carrying out data migration activities.

REPORTING
  • Work with BGCA teams to ensure proper data reporting to the national data warehouse
  • Support client reporting needs through the development queries and reports
  • Support the development of data reporting and analysis

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Reporting & Data Analyst
  • Participate on cross-functional project teams, as required
  • Adhere to organizational policies and procedures as described in BGCA’s Employee Handbook, Ethics Policy and elsewhere
  • Demonstrate BGCA mission driven values of integrity, excellence and inclusion and integrate into work environment and ways of work

SUPERVISION EXERCISED
  • No direct Reports. May monitor and coordinate the work of temporary employees and student interns.

Qualifications:
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
  • Salesforce Administrator certificate preferred
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience implementing and managing complex relational databases required
  • Minimum of three years of experience
  • Knowledge of SQL reporting required
  • Experience working in data systems across independent entities (independent organizations, school districts, state systems, etc.) is preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree required. Advanced degree(s) in related areas preferred

  • Is able to look at data, analyze data, make it tell a story related to business need, and create action as a result
  • Possesses the functional and technical knowledge and skills to perform the job with a high level of accomplishment
  • Is knowledgeable about policies, practices, trends, competition, technology and information affecting the business and the organization
  • Breaks down projects into tasks, develops schedules, makes assignments; organizes people and activities

ENVIRONMENTAL & WORKING CONDITIONS
  • Approximately 5% travel.
  • Normal internal working environment.
  • The individual selected for this position must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and be able to navigate areas of the country by using electric direction methods.
