Alexander Building Co. is a General Contracting Company. We do interior remodels, whole house remodels, conversion of existing buildings to ADUs, new construction ADUs and additions. We perform all phases of construction from foundation to finish. Our company has multiple projects at various stages of completion at any given time.
The Construction Management Assistant role at Alexander Building Co. is a great opportunity to work first-hand with an experienced licensed contractor. There is potential to learn and grow in the job and take on further managerial, coordination and supervisory roles in the field and in the office. The coordinator will assist in providing day to day logistics of these projects for the crews working on them.
The ideal candidate is enthusiastic, calm under pressure, detail-oriented, organized, professional, and able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and seamlessly.
Responsibilities:
·Day to day activities include - visiting multiple jobsites, enquiring of the workers and what they need, creating accurate lists of required materials and efficiently procuring them from the closest sources to the jobsite.
·Meeting with clients, subcontractors, employees, architects.
·Occasionally meeting building inspectors and answering their questions.
·Reading and understanding architectural plans, contracts and city and county codes
·Procure, track and arrange delivery of special orders.
·Purchase and transportation of building materials including but not limited to: drywall, plywood, bags of concrete, lumber and all manner of construction materials.Some materials are 50lbs.+
·Assist with estimating, invoicing and contracts.
·Assist with preparing jobsites and jobsite cleaning and maintenance.
Qualifications and Responsibilities:
·Must have a good driving record and a personal car, truck or van for the job. (Company will compensate the Construction Management Assistant for on-the-job mileage.)
·Comfortable using power tools
·Knowledge of English and Spanish a plus
·College degree or trade school certification is preferred, but a high school diploma is sufficient.
·Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
Hours & Compensation
·Flexible between the hours of 7am-4pm Monday through Friday
·Salary Range: $25+/hr + mileage
