Do you have a vision for how a construction company could (and should) optimize from a financial perspective?
Our construction company is seeking a detail-oriented and strategic individual to join our team as a Construction Finance and Bookkeeping Manager. This role involves managing the bookkeeping and financial strategies of our company. The ideal candidate will have experience in construction accounting, financial management, and strategic planning. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring our financial operations run smoothly and our financial strategies align with our business goals.
Responsibilities and Job Duties
- Update and maintain accurate financial records, contracts, annual budgets, tax reports, and financial statements.
- Collaborate with senior management to make financial decisions that align with the company's strategic objectives.
- Perform extensive data entry to ensure all financial data is accurately input into accounting software.
- Process invoices, checks, and payroll accurately and on time and resolve any invoice issues.
- Work closely with project managers and general contractors to ensure accurate forecasts for timeline, budget, and costs for new jobs.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of the company's financial strategies.
- Monitor financial performance, conduct analysis, and prepare reports on financial trends and budget variances.
- Safeguard the accuracy of the general ledger and journal entries, prepare balance sheets, and financial reports.
- Oversee all financial transactions, such as credit card and bank reconciliations, and manage the accounts payables and accounts receivables process.
Ad-Hoc Projects Available
- Assist in integrating our accounting and project management software together
- Help establish foundational principles and practices that will guide the rest of the team in their reporting and documenting workflows
Requirements:
- Proficiency in Construction industry software (we use Buildertrend at present)
- Proficiency in using team based chatting software (we use Slack)
- Strong strategic planning and financial analysis skills.
- Strong understanding of construction accounting principles, including job costing and managing costs and profitability of individual projects.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or full-charge bookkeeping experience in the construction industry.
- Proficiency in accounting software and other financial management tools.
- Associate’s degree in accounting, finance, or business, or related field is preferred - high school diploma is required.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with various teams.
Reports To:President/Owner
Note from company on remote work & type of role:
This role will require in office work for the first year at least. However, we are a flexible team and once we have achieved a certain level of operational efficiency, a remote working situation would be available for discussion.
In addition, we are advertising for both full-time and part-time. While the repsonsibilites of this role are certainly full time, we are happy to talk with the right candidate about a part-time role that would grow into a full-time role if that ended up being the right type of structure to get things going!
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Salary: $80,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
