Finance Associate (Remote Us)

We’re looking for a Finance Associate to elevate Chord as the leader in headless commerce. You’ll join a growing team that is building a platform to empower the next generation of brands with smart technology, unique customer experiences, and insightful data.

In this role, you will be directly responsible for the financial activities of the company. You will work cross-functionally throughout the organization to track performance against budget, oversee outsourced accounting resources, and respond to investor inquiries. You will have primary responsibility for the company’s financial model, and associated readouts. As our next Finance Associate, you will be a key member of the G&A team and will report directly to our VP Finance.

As a Finance Associate, you will:

• Work closely with sales to price new customer contracts
• Develop financial models to help the company set financial goals and measure progress towards them.
• Directly manage customer billing and revenue reporting
• Assist in fundraising efforts by preparing financial projections and presentation materials, and quarterbacking due diligence
• Report on financial results in a timely and accurate manner.
• Control and optimize expenses with a focus on efficient operations and consistent policy. Evaluate spending patterns, negotiate contracts, and monitor expenditure against budgeted amounts

To be successful in this role, you’ll need:

• Advanced Excel, Powerpoint/Google Slides skills. Bonus points for experience with financial planning and dashboard software
• Experience managing outsourced teams; accounting (including A/P and A/R) is outsourced, but you will be accountable for oversight.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
• Experience in a startup environment. Bonus points for experience in the early stage in SaaS and/or commerce
• Familiarity with accounting and metrics in a SaaS business

The salary range for this position is representative of US-based employment. We set standard ranges for all roles based on function, level, and geographic location, benchmarked against similar-stage growth companies in our market. This salary range represents the full salary range for the position. The starting base pay offered may vary depending on factors including experience, expertise, market demands, and internal parity.
