Job Description
Lemnature AquaFarms is a leading technology-based, vertically integrated B2B producer of non-GMO plant-based ingredients to the food, beverage, and nutrition markets. We utilize lemnaceae, a nutrient rich aquatic plant that can double in biomass in less than 48 hours, grow on marginal and non-arable lands, and be harvested continually, to deliver premium quality products to our customers. Our products win on taste, texture, color, functionality and nutritional superiority, with a focus on sustainability, food safety and quality. With 150 acres of aquafarms in operation and an aggressive growth plan to add 2,500 additional acres during the next few years, we are entering a new, extended phase of accelerated growth!


We have a very exciting opportunity for a Business Development Manager to join our rapidly growing start-up in Vero Beach, Florida. The Business Development Manager will play a critical role as we transition from building the business fundamentals and supporting processes to quickly scaling revenue generation and customer/partner relationships. This role will be responsible for performing detailed analytics and possess wide responsibilities to assist with the overall growth and management of demand generation and the commercial business.


Requirements


Key Responsibilities:


  • Support our distributors and manage ongoing needs via an effective process, leveraging strong communication and data sharing.
  • Support Forecasting and Demand Planning process.
  • Facilitate productivity of trade shows through effective targeting of attendees and exhibitors pre-show, and reconciliation and dissemination of converted leads post-show.
  • Manage Salesforce process and system; attain Admin Certification if not already achieved.
  • Provide data and insights to support customer and partner acquisition, development, and long-term relationships.
  • Conduct market analysis, competitor research, and customer needs assessment to identify growth new opportunities for the Business Development Team to pursue.
  • Facilitate Samples management (per established process)
  • Deliver ad hoc reports and dashboard analytics as requested.
  • Work closely with the marketing team to develop relevant co-marketing campaigns within the B2C channel.
  • Maintain effective Process Workstreams and drive updates when needed.
  • Manage Business Development related customer service calls/emails.


Qualifications & Skills:


  • Ability to balance and manage multiple on-going projects and meet challenging deadlines.
  • Ability to identify gaps in own knowledge or skills and a willingness to self-educate or outsource what is required for success in a resource constrained environment.
  • Team player with the ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships and operate effectively in a small company environment, working cross-functionally in a non-matrixed organization.
  • Possess an understanding of business principles, market dynamics, and customer behavior.
  • Travel as required to attend industry events, conferences, and customer meetings.
  • SalesForce: Must have extensive system experience and possess an administrator’s certificate or have the desire to obtain one.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships, both internally, and externally with customers and partners.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with strong oral and written communication capabilities.
  • Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP): A deep understanding with ERP systems (ideally NetSuite).
  • Education & Experience: Bachelor’s Degree and 5 years of experience in the food, beverage and/or nutrition markets.
  • Proficient in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Word with skills sufficient for success in key areas of responsibility.
  • Analytical and logical thinker with an ability to assimilate information quickly in a fast-paced and dynamic business environment.
  • Creative and nimble problem solver.
