Overview and Responsibilities

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Business Account Manager to join our team. In this position, you are responsible for soliciting, negotiating, implementing and maintaining Veteran Affairs (VA) and/or Managed Care Organization accounts (MCO) within a defined geographic area and achieving sales goals as defined by management.

• Conduct/coordinate in-services with the VA's and/or other government entities
• Performs other duties as assigned
• Educate central intake, locations and billing centers on VA and/or other government processes and contract requirements
• Develop presentation materials for products and services offered
• Preparation of Payor Profiles and Quick Reference Guides
• Soliciting, negotiating and implementing new agreements, either VA or MCO, within the defined geographic area
• Responsible for effective account interaction in order to understand and document the authorization process, billing rules, Days Sales Outstanding (DSO) and account trends to ensure continuous improvement within each account
• Contract renegotiation when necessary

Travel

• Travel extensively via airplane and/or vehicle

Qualifications

Employment is contingent on

• Valid driver's license in state of residence with a clean driving record (when applicable for the position)
• Drug screen ( when applicable for the position )
• Background investigation (company-wide)

Required Education and/or Experience

• High school diploma or GED equivalent, required

Preferred Education and/or Experience

• Medical terminology, preferred
• Clinical background, preferred
• Three years of related government work experience, preferred
• Experience in medical field, preferred
• Experience with successful contract negotiation, implementation and delivery, preferred
• Bachelor's Degree, preferred

Skills and Competencies

• Multi-task along with attention to detail
• Effectively communicate in English; both oral and written
• Work independently and as part of a team
• Interpret a variety of communications (verbal, non-verbal, written, listening and visual)
• Self-motivation, organized, time-management and deductive problem solving skills
• Maintain confidentiality, discretion and caution when handling sensitive information

Machines, Equipment and Technical Abilities

• Microsoft applications; Outlook, Word and Excel
• Internet navigation and research
• Office equipment; fax machine, copier, printer, phone and computer and/or tablet
• Email transmission and communication

Physical Demands

• Requires close vision to small print on computer and/or tablet and paperwork
• Utilize computer for extensive hours
• Lift and carry office equipment at times
• Requires sitting, walking, standing, talking and listening
• Regularly review documents with small print
• Lift and carry up to 50lbs during travel
