JOB OVERVIEW
Direct report: Sr. Director of US Sales Strategy, Meetings & Events
Location: Miami-Dade (On site position with hybrid remote policy) or Remote
Type of contract: Full time employee
RESPONSIBILITIES AND MISSIONS
1. Business Development & Growth: Weddings & Celebrations
· Leads Club Med sales efforts on all romance-travel topics for the USA:
o Participates in industry romance-travel trade shows and events
o Liases with Field Sales Team to manage relationships with USA travel agents and wedding planners
§ Acts as key support to close romance-travel business.
o Responsible for coordination, operations and training for the North America zone (includes Canada & Mexico)
· “Owner” of the Club Med Weddings program, acts as the main contact person for all the local Wedding Planners or Local Authorities in each resort where weddings are offered
· Manages the upkeep and evolution of the Club Med weddings packages
· Manages destination wedding planner contracts for all NAM resorts where weddings are offered
· Ensures smooth construction of the wedding event with the customer, wedding planner and resort
· Sources new business opportunities/leads: 30th Anniversaries, Birthdays, Quinceaneras etc.
· Promotes an upsell strategy throughout wedding contract life
· Defines post stay strategy – with objective to increase the return rate for wedding guests
o Convert guests to returning individual clients
o Bride & Groom honeymoons
o Anniversaries
- Lead point of contact for Bisutti weddings
2. Coordination: Build Efficiencies
· Ensure the in-resort operations/logistics align with the customer contract
· Coordination of the calendar of events with Sales Ops & Revenue Management
· Product offer in alignment with the Call center front line agents and management
· Sustainable Celebrations workflow in coordination with Sales, Call center and Planner
3. Marketing & Training: Manages the Eco-system of Sales & Marketing Wedding Touchpoints
· Sales Tools (brochure, website, social) Updates w/Marketing Support
o Ensures qualitative 360 marketing & sales weddings visibility
· Provides content strategy
· Creates a Weddings & Celebrations internal culture and knowledge trough efficient training: contact center, sales teams, resort teams
· Builds/shares expertise and knowledge: monitoring trends, benchmarking competition
DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Tourism or Business Administration preferred
Languages:
Excellent level of spoken and written English
Spanish and French a plus
Knowledge & Experience:
Hotel experience (weddings & events)
Operational and administrative knowledge of the wedding and banquet segment
Event production/logistics – evaluation of events and projects and implementing improvements
Wedding sales techniques
Wedding rituals of different religions
Romance event design
Knowledge of health and safety guidelines and practices for events
Competencies and/or Skills
Event operation
Track record of successful event delivery, with a focus on exceptional experience
Public relations
Customer service in hospitality and/or wedding planner
Analysis, problem solving and decision making
Managing budgets and reports
Responding to inquiries in a timely manner
Proven record of meeting sales targets
Upselling
Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize effectively, work efficiently and juggle competing priorities
Friendly and flexible approach. Building positive relationships with colleagues and guests
