Job Description

Adecco Creative & Marketing is partnering with one of the world's largest cosmetic companies to find a Beauty Marketing Assistant/Coordinator for a 1 year temp role to consult Media Relations, Stages, and Awards and partner with current Area Head.

Pay: $30-$36/hr

Hours: 40/hr per week, M-F

Duration: 1 year

Structure: Hybrid

Location: New York, NY

Start: ASAP

End: 1 year


About the Role:

  • This role requires building relationships with external stakeholders (e.g., media, vendors, etc.) and throughout the Groupe (US and global), as well as collaborating cross-functionally with a variety of internal stakeholders.
  • The ideal candidate is an innovative and entrepreneurial self-starter with exceptional writing skills, strong detail orientation, and the proven ability to manage a multitude of priorities, and deadlines.
  • This role will be responsible for the deployment of effective external communication strategies and tactics across the company, including media relations, stages/events, and awards.
  • The work will include a focus on C-Suite executives, corporate functions (e.g., sustainability, diversity, equity and inclusion, research and innovation, etc.), and brand divisions (Consumer Products, Dermatological Beauty, Professional Products, and Luxe).


Responsibilities:

I. Media Relations

  • Build ongoing, long-last media relationships with top-tier and trade outlets in the US.
  • Work cross-functionally with stakeholders to source stories and craft narratives for external use.
  • Continue to build company's reputation and visibility in the US by developing and implementing effective, thoughtful media strategies and driving execution, including media list development, outreach, and monitoring, and reporting.


II. Stages and Events

  • Direct written and verbal communications with internal/external suppliers including procurement, creative agencies, and third-party experiential suppliers.
  • Act as lead project manager on large scale corporate events including development of project timelines, program objectives, budget, logistics and necessary branding needs.
  • Develop event strategies, leverage best practices and processes, and propose initiatives that align with company goals and objectives.


III. Awards

  • Work cross-functionally with stakeholders to source award submission topics and proof points.
  • Lead company's awards strategy and implementation, including sourcing, drafting, submitting, tracking, and amplifying corporate awards.


General

  • Effectively collaborate with other members of Corporate Affairs and Engagement to ensure effective 360 awareness and amplification of efforts.
  • Build relationships with communications partners in the organization, as well as, key stakeholders, to influence alignment and seek opportunities to leverage ideas across teams.
  • Support the implementation of US and global driven initiatives across all métiers and divisions.


Knowledge and Skills

  • Self-motivated, with an appetite for and track record of working entrepreneurially.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as strong listening skills.
  • Adaptable to changing business conditions and thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Flexibility to travel as required and to work, if needed, outside of standard office hours.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office with ability to work in Excel.
  • Outstanding influencing and interpersonal skills and a track record of working effectively and forming peer-level relationships with senior members of an organization.
  • Solid understanding of business dynamics and ability to work at the highest levels in a corporate environment.
  • An uncompromising commitment to quality-detail oriented but able to see the big picture.
  • Strong project management skills, and the ability to execute programs and events with speed, accuracy, and efficiency.
  • Deep experience in external communications with a focus on media relations preferred.


Education and Experience

  • Experience working in a role relative to external communications required
  • Bachelors degree in Communications, Marketing, or related field required
  • 6-8 years-experience working in a fast-paced environment
  • Proven track record of impactful engagement programs and campaign execution from ideation to completion
