HealingHand Tech is a Dublin-based HealthTech startup on a mission to transform telerehabilitation. We are developing a fully remote end-to-end solution for upper limb rehabilitation with a personalised treatment programme and gameplay. We combine a smart wearable device with a mobile app and remote patient monitoring, adding behaviour change, multiplayer, data analytics, etc. We are passionate about digital transformation and believe a fully gamified patient experience is the future of healthcare.

What are you going to do?

We are now looking for a Backend Development Intern to assist in developing the backend infrastructure for our tele-rehabilitation solution. As a Backend Development Intern, your responsibilities will include:

• Collaborating with the frontend and system architecture teams to ensure seamless functionality and performance.
• Conducting thorough testing and debugging to ensure high-quality backend functionality.
• Assisting with database design and optimization.
• Participating in code reviews and providing constructive feedback.
• Staying up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in backend development.
• Writing clean, efficient, and maintainable code.
• Designing and implementing scalable backend systems to support the tele-rehabilitation solution.
• Developing APIs and integrations to connect various components of the solution.

To be eligible for this internship, you should:

• Be proficient in one or more backend programming languages such as Python, Node.js, or Java.
• Be a proactive learner and have a passion for staying updated with the latest technologies in backend development.
• Familiarity with database management systems, such as MySQL or MongoDB.
• Possess knowledge of version control systems like Git.
• Have a strong understanding of web application architecture and RESTful APIs.
• Have experience working with cloud platforms like AWS or Azure.
• Demonstrate problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot and debug complex systems.
• Have experience and knowledge in backend development.
