Backend Ingestion Engineer - Audiobooks

The Audiobooks Mission is a team in the Product & Technology organization passionate about the ecosystem and strategies of Audiobooks on Spotify. We work across both the creator and consumer audiobooks ecosystems, in order to get the best possible product to market with the best possible content.

Spotify is looking for a Backend Engineer to join the Ingestion Pipeline team at Findaway! You will work with our team to improve and evolve our audiobook ingestion infrastructure. You will ensure that publisher ingested audiobook metadata moves through our pipeline and out to Spotify and other distribution partners with speed, quality, visibility and flexibility. Your relentless pursuit of continuous improvement will pay dividends for Spotify and creators for years to come.

What You’ll Do

• Build and operate infrastructure, toolset, and deployment pipelines
• Take operational responsibility for the services that are owned by your team, including taking part in an on-call rotation
• Collaborate closely with other engineers and become a valued member of an autonomous, cross-functional team
• Work in an environment that supports your individual growth
• Develop and deploy data ingestion services with a focus on accuracy, resilience, and efficiency

Who You Are

• You are detail-oriented and believe that edge cases are, in fact, real cases
• You have good understanding of data structures and algorithms, and understand how to apply them to design pragmatic solutions
• You are comfortable writing Python and working with relational or NoSQL databases
• You are comfortable running your software in Linux environments
• You believe in iteration and know that finding the right solution is more important than the first
• You know and care about sound engineering practices like continuous delivery, defensive programming and automated testing
• You are experienced in working with modern infrastructure and tools
• You are pragmatic and work to coalesce requirements into reasonable solutions that provide value
• You are interested in keeping up with current best practices in your areas of expertise

The United States base range for this position is $116,455-$166,364, plus equity. The benefits available for this position include health insurance, six month paid parental leave, 401(k) retirement plan, monthly meal allowance, 23 paid days off, 13 paid flexible holidays. These ranges may be modified in the future.
