Job Summary

An Automation Project Engineer is needed for a leading manufacturing organization in the southern Atlanta metro area (Fairburn). The Automation Project Engineer is responsible to play a vital role in the successful execution of small manufacturing capital project upgrades. Primary responsibilities will include programming ladder logic, leading the automation and electrical aspects of projects, and ensuring seamless implementation of automation solutions.

The ideal candidate should have a solid understanding of automation engineering principles, proficiency in Allen Bradley, and preferably experience with Siemens. Knowledge and experience with pick and place robots would be highly beneficial. A minimum of 1 year of relevant industry experience and a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering are required for this position. This is a long-term contract role with the potential to become direct hire. Our client is only seeking local talent at this time.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage automation and electrical aspects of projects, ensuring adherence to engineering standards, safety guidelines, and regulations
• Design and implement efficient human-machine interface (HMI) systems for operation and monitoring of automation processes
• Conduct feasibility studies, risk assessments, and cost analyses to identify and mitigate potential project risks related to automation and electrical systems
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop project scopes, schedules, and budgets for small manufacturing capital project upgrades, emphasizing automation and electrical systems
• Program ladder logic for Allen Bradley PLC systems to automate manufacturing processes and optimize system performance
