System Automation Engineer Jobs

Location: Alpharetta GA OR Canonsburg PA

Hybrid: 4 days onsite

Duration: Perm

Responsibilities:

The Systems Engineers will advise and perform highly complex duties in the design, development, testing, documentation and start-up of the process control systems.

• Designs, codes and tests software for assigned portion of the project
• Develop new programs, as well as enhancements, modifications and upgrades to existing software for a specific contract
• Performing engineering, specification, design, testing and commissioning of PLC’s, DCS (distributed control systems), and HMI (human interface)
• Review and approve functional specifications, system configurations and project schedules and assign tasks
• Provides project management functions including reviewing the overall project schedule and assignment of project tasks, reviewing all equipment purchases, maintaining budgets, issuing change orders and updating reports for senior management
• Leads sales efforts including proposal generation, project cost estimation and technical presentations
• Functions as a Project Engineer for any size project
• Develops process calculations and models

Must Haves:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science or an equivalent program
• 5+ years of experience with any of the following industries handling LARGE, complex machines

Steel/aluminum environment

Automotive

Paper

• Experience in one of the following:
• Experience handling IO (input/outputs)- up to 1,000

PLC & operators interface programming

Drives and programming

Database programming

• Willingness to travel 40%-60% of the time
