Quality Assurance Automation Engineer

Job Title: QA Automation (Python and Robotics)

Location: Alpharetta, GA (Onsite)

What you’ll be doing…

· As a QA engineer for the Atlanta office, you will be working directly with UX, BA and full stack engineers to deliver coded automated tests for browser and server applications in a CI/CD environment, following Kanban methodologies.

Responsibilities:

• Enable automation execution for all new builds and hotfixes through continuous testing process
• Write test plans and test cases for assigned features.
• Research test tools, methodologies, and trends and upgrading existing practices and processes.
• Maintaining bug backlogs - triaging and prioritizing with stakeholders
• Work across different application and integrated automations scripts to create E2E flows
• Working directly with the wider teams to maintain and enhance our test automation frameworks
• Work with the development team to identify and capture test cases
• Test case development based on functional and technical requirements
• Advocate for QA and defining/maintaining quality standards within your team
• Set up and monitoring of automation test suites as part of CI/CD pipeline

What we’re looking for...

General Experience

• Professional experience in agile/lean methodologies and processes - ideally Kanban or scrum as a minimum
• A minimum of 5-7+ years of experience in software development
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team
• A software enthusiast with a passion for the technologies you are working with
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related discipline
• Good communication skills both written and oral
• Quality and results focused with experience in project delivery - individually or as part of a team and ideally in a CI/CD environment
• Experience with systems analysis and design, and working with senior engineers and architects
• Experience working in larger project and team environments with product, application support and operations teams

Technical Skills / Experience

• Experience with test case management tools such as Test Rail
• Experience in Object Oriented/SOLID Design principles and practices
• Good hands-on development experience on PLSQL, oracle, Postgres or any other database
• Thorough understanding and experience of testing RESTful API & Microservice architectures through code-based testing
• Exposure to defect/requirements management tools e.g. JIRA
• Understanding of API and Web UI / Browser based testing on modern UI frameworks
• Hands-on development experience in JAVA, Python (preferred), C# etc.
• Proficiency in SQL for data set up and verification
• Cross browser testing experience
• Ability to read and understand production code as part of test case development
• Development experience with UNIX/Linux environment
• 3+ years of experience in coded test automation using Python or Robot Framework
• Experience using Selenium Web Driver 2/3 and Visual Studio/PyCharm to write coded automation tests
• Managing code with source control applications e.g GIT
• Strong experience in testing fundamentals - test case generation, smoke testing, regression etc.

Even better if you have:

• Demonstrated performance testing experience (JUnit, Loadrunner or other tools)
• Experience testing Microservices or Service Oriented Architectures
• Advocate of clean code practices and processes
• Knowledge of Test Driven Development and Domain Driven Design
