Asst Gen Counsel Compliance
YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop relationships with and continue to strengthen the working relationship between the Bayer U.S. and Bayer A.G. Offices of Compliance
- Utilize e-Discovery platforms and other internal technological solutions to help ensure the completeness of investigations
- As requested, coordinate the efforts of the U.S. Office of Compliance with LPC Express Investigations
- Help to manage and respond to inquiries from law enforcement or regulatory agencies Enabling Functions
- Serve as a key compliance resource for and meet regularly with members of LPC to help promote compliance policies and procedures
- As requested, provide legal advice and counsel to Critical Asset Protection Team, Corporate Security, U.S. Policy Committee and other internal stakeholders and groups
- Provide advice, counsel, and assistance regarding transparency and disclosure laws, including the Federal Sunshine law and similar state and global laws and guidelines
- Business Partnering
- Manage, coordinate, independently investigate and respond to compliance matters brought to the U.S. Office of Compliance, through the Compliance Hotline or otherwise
- Monitor the compliance environment applicable to Bayer businesses by, among other things, participating in PhRMA, Advamed, and other trade association activities, and appropriately benchmark with compliance professionals at external meetings Build Relationships within LPC
- Develop, review, and implement appropriate policies, procedures, and strategies to help ensure stakeholder understanding and compliance with the same
- Manage and coordinate the provision of competent, practical, and timely advice, counsel, and assistance by identifying, assessing, and responding to Compliance risks across the Bayer businesses
- As requested, attend local and national business meetings to learn about business strategies
- Develop a strong working knowledge of Bayer’s business and operational goals and objectives
- Function as a key management advisor on compliance-related matters and meet regularly with leaders across the Bayer businesses

Required Qualifications:
- The ability to work independently, ethically, and in partnership with the businesses
- J.D. from an accredited U.S. law school
- Demonstrated leadership and supervisory skills
- Excellent analytical skills are necessary to assess risks, extent of liability, financial impact and long-term effects on Bayer’s objectives
- Admission to a state bar
- Significant strength in planning and organization is necessary to handle multiple projects and timelines
- Sound judgment and the ability to influence management on Compliance and business issues.
- 8-12 years or more of legal experience (including at least 3 years of independently conducting investigations preferred)
- A combination of legal skills, compliance proficiency, business management skills, interpersonal skills, and the ability to effectively communicate to a wide variety of audiences
Employees can expect to be paid a salary of between $169,084 to $253,657. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant). Additional benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc. This salary (or salary range) is merely an estimate and may vary based on an applicant’s location, market data/ranges, an applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors.
