BlackRock Platform Innovation (BPI) is a global group of change professionals responsible for driving strategic transformation for BlackRock. We partner with business leaders to understand their commercial objectives, develop a scalable operating and platform strategy and lead end-to-end delivery. Your role and impact

We are looking for an Associate, Platform Strategy & Operations to work with the Head of BPI and the BPI Executive Committee to help manage program, project and platform strategy across our organization. You will help coordinate resources, project information and reporting across BPI’s 7 project segments. Responsibilities include partnering with leaders to help plan new initiatives, help document progress in current initiatives and facilitate exit strategy discussions as BPI projects approach completion dates.

You should be a student of the industry and our organization, understanding how to navigate the firm and the various ecosystems and geographies in which we operate. You are driven, resilient, curious and collaborative and have strong analytical and communications skills. This role is managed by the Head of BPI.

Your Responsibilities

• Specific duties include managing information flow and coordinating regional teams and deliverables during periods where the Rapid Response protocol is active
• Work with BPI leaders to develop a staffing plan and project timelines
• BPI assists the firm’s leadership during periods of significant market volatility or uncertainty by coordinating response workstreams
• Assist in the planning, development, implementation, and mark-to-market of projects (including identifying and escalating issues)
• Scope, plan and execute on special projects in areas including business and organizational strategy, conferences, communication of the BPI strategy, and content for various engagements
• Assist with operating the BPI Global Rapid Response protocol
• Prepare materials that explain project context, goals and deliverables
• Drive operational execution, including ensuring all projects have accountable ownership, clear timelines, context for partners, specific and measurable deliverables, and alignment with firm priorities
• Partner with BPI leaders and senior stakeholders throughout the firm to help develop the strategy, scope and deliverables for global transformational change projects
• Manage monthly, quarterly and ad-hoc business reporting
• Proactively manage relationships internally and externally; serve as a BPI ambassador and provide context to key stakeholders
• Manage global team calls and communications, meeting agendas, speakers, materials and follow ups
• Execute on or drive execution of clear action items and commitments following meetings

Your Experience

• Advanced MS Excel and Smartsheet skills; ability to draft detailed project timelines and project plans
• Advanced MS PowerPoint and business writing skills; ability to quickly produce management-level presentations, business memos and exhibits utilizing data and synthesizing key information
• Positive attitude and willingness to “roll-up the sleeves”
• Technical aptitude, understanding technology in a business context
• Experience in business process analysis, design, and implementation
• Sense of urgency around client, management, and partner requests
• Ability to organize people under pressure, pull in key decisionmakers and escalate as needed
• Ability to clearly communicate upcoming deliverables and objectives, influence stakeholders and effectively manage projects with lead time, clear and consultative guidance and empathy
• Experience with AI (artificial intelligence) /ML (machine learning), including large language models, OpenAI and Azure AI solutions a plus
• A strong contributor with the ability to prioritize and deliver in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines and multiple demands
• Sense of curiosity and the courage to ask tough questions
• Experience working with global, distributed teams across multiple time zones

For New York City only: The salary range for this position is $118,750 - $135,000. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including heath care, leave benefits, and retirement benefits. BlackRock operates a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy and your total compensation may vary based on role, location, and firm, department and individual performance.

Our hybrid work model

BlackRock’s hybrid work model is designed to enable a culture of collaboration and apprenticeship that enriches the experience of our employees, while supporting flexibility for all. Employees are currently required to work at least 3 days in the office each week, with the flexibility to work from home up to 2 days a week; some business groups may require more time in the office due to their roles and responsibilities. Beginning in September, all employees will shift to at least 4 days in the office per week, with the flexibility to work from home 1 day a week.
