Position Summary:
This position is the marketing lead for Maria College and the head of creative on all external and internal marketing and communications. The AVP strategically aligns activities; integrates the marketing communications, public relations, creative strategy and execution, events and brand management functions. AVP will maintain the College’s brand and key messaging to ensure that all projects meet the appropriate communication and design objectives on schedule, maintain relationship with vendors to ensure quality and timely results.
Requirements:
Job Duties, Responsibilities, and Tasks:
1. Leads marketing strategy, planning and project management of marketing activities across the college and for cross-functional initiatives to accomplish the strategic priorities, mission and vision of the College.
2. Leverages key partnerships to support marketing plans, communicate messaging, drive growth, and engage constituents.
3. Creates and manages standardized marketing and communication processes, including operating procedures and quality assurance.
4. Determines best practices for oversight of marketing strategy development, planning and project management, including evaluation and implementation of process changes as necessary.
5. Oversees integrated marketing communication to internal stakeholders, including marketing plans, push calendar, process updates and changes ensuring understanding and support across the College.
6. Develops and executes a comprehensive, long-term and proactive college-wide communications, marketing and branding strategy consistent with the strategic goals, plans and aspirations of the College.
7. Gather data, measure, and report out on marketing efforts, with an emphasis on effectiveness metrics.
8. Collaborate with all offices on campus to ensure marketing and design deliverables are cohesive with the College’s and department strategic priorities.
9. Manages content, including copy and design, for all college publications, promotional materials, digital platforms, and internal/external communications.
10. Manages the marketing department budget, taking cost-saving actions when possible.
11. Develops marketing plan strategies for Enrollment Management team by mapping out objectives, tasks and schedules, and then by completing design and production requirements. After the campaign has completed, they gather results to make informed decisions on future projects and showcase successes.
12. Conducts and complies market research, as appropriate, to ensure knowledge in depth on target marketing audiences.
13. Coordinates marketing media mix with external vendor to advertise upcoming Admissions events and launch branding campaigns.
Skills and Qualifications
- Knowledge of higher education marketing analytics.
- Ability to both direct work and produce work when required.
- Focused on process improvement within the department.
- Excellent organization, coaching, and teamwork skills.
- Outstanding Project Management skills and ability to coordinate multiple projects at the same time. Ability to oversee work and explain complex projects clearly and succinctly.
- Excellent knowledge of design principles and tactics, to ensure top Brand & Design Positioning. In-depth technical knowledge of design software (Adobe, Microsoft), social media platforms, photography and videography required.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of people management experience.
- 6-8 years of experience in marketing, communications, and/or public relations agency or related area with an emphasis on Digital Marketing.
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Higher education experience preferred.
