Job purpose
The Assistant Marketing Manager’s role is to coordinate and manage successful execution of Marketing Communications strategies within the cooperative’s Commercial Division. Provides overall support for new product launch, product improvement, and marketing communications initiatives to help promote Upstate Niagara’s branded products to customers and consumers. The Assistant Marketing Manager works with a cross-functional team and demonstrates excellent communications skills to drive product marketing efforts.
Duties and responsibilities
  • Supports and implements strategic brand marketing initiatives and promotional activities
  • Supplies a consistent set of reports periodically with relevant metrics and KPIs to measure UNC performance against objectives in a standardized way
  • Develops messaging for multiple marketing channels including social, experiential, media, digital, content marketing, PR, partnerships
  • Analyzes customer needs, competitive information, and sales trends and provides recommendations to assist in decision making regarding marketplace trends, consumer insights, and product assortment & attributes
  • Coordinates trade show participation and materials
  • Provides internal messaging and sales-enablement materials to help sales channels succeed
  • Assists with integrated marketing campaigns, from concept to launch, including strategic development, creative briefs, creative development, implementation, and performance monitoring/analysis
  • Performs periodic sales performance reviews and organizes and analyzes data from various internal and external sources to support UNC projects and key strategic initiatives
  • Works with agency partners on developing relevant and compelling marketing programs, promotional content, and sales materials
Qualifications
  • Team player with collaborative mindset, also motivated to work independently and proactively on projects through all stages
  • Prolific computer skills, particularly Microsoft Office
  • Detail-oriented, with a high level of professionalism, and a strong work ethic, able to handle multiple priorities in a timely manner
  • Strong business acumen and willingness to take initiative
  • Thorough understanding of marketing elements (including traditional and digital marketing) and market research methods
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, time management, and communication skills
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, complex environment
  • Exceptional analytical skills, with high degree of objectivity and sound judgement
Education
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in marketing or business administration with marketing specialization
  • Five or more years of experience working in a similar role with a CPG company
