Title:Assistant Director of Scientific Content

Compensation Range:$70K-$90K based on experience

Position Overview

The Assistant Director of Scientific Content plays an integral role in supporting CRI’s aggressive growth plans and newly launched brand identity, website, and scientific programs. This individual will serve as an immunology and science expert for the organization and will be responsible for idea generation, writing, editing, and fact-checking content for multiple audiences and platforms, inside and outside of the scientific community. Some weekend and afterhours work may be required at times based on projects, including traveling up to three times a year for conferences.

Employees will work from home and are required to be in the office located in lower Manhattan one day a week (Wednesday).

Responsibilities

Overall: Serve as an immunology and science expert for the organization in all areas of copywriting, production, editing, internal and external communications, storytelling and content development.

• Serve as the primary contact with CRI’s scientific network and identify scientific experts as needed to support content for patient summits and other programing
• Draft press releases, pitch and conceive blog posts, and produce 4+ webinars a year
• Contribute to the content calendar, working closely with multiple teams within the organization
• Compile CRI’s annual report (scientific content), annual impact report, and monthly news updates
• Update and maintain CRI-funded scientist profiles and progress reports
• Attend and report at conferences as assigned

Qualifications

Candidates must possess:

• A desire to work for a preeminent 70-year-old non-profit that funds cancer research
• An interest in working in an entrepreneurial, team-based environment
• 4 - 6 years in the communications field with a vast knowledge of immunotherapy
• Outstanding writing, editing, and grammar skills
• Experience contributing to a content calendar and content creation
• Are bilingual in English and Spanish
• Have a PhD in immunology or a related field
• Preference will be given to candidates who:
• The ability to translate complex ideas into simplified terms
