Job Description
The Executive Leadership Council is the preeminent member organization for the development of global black leaders. Position Overview


The Assistant Controller is responsible for assisting the Controller in directing the organization's accounting functions including cost, payables, and reporting. This roles contributes to the development and maintenance of financial reporting, planning and budgeting systems while overseeing the preparation of periodic reporting and required legal filings. This role also helps to ensure that all corporate and required accounting policies and procedures are documented and followed by the organization. As the Assistant Controller, they will oversee the day to day of the accounting staff and send reports to the Controller.


Essential Job Functions & Key Outcomes


FINANCIAL OPERATIONS MANAGEMENT


  • Direct preparation of and approve monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
  • Prepare financial reporting materials for corporate and foundation grants.
  • Facilitate to ensure a competent, trained staff through regular assessment, development, and goal setting.
  • Establish relevant and timely reports on financial data analytics like the monthly flash report, key financial metrics, and actual spend against budgets/outlook.
  • Prepare month end close and compile financial statements and supporting schedules.
  • Assist in ensuring the integrity of the overall daily accounting operations consistent with GAAP, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, grants accounting, payroll, and general ledger maintenance.
  • Prepare other financial reports and metrics as needed.
  • Work with outside auditors to prepare schedules and documents for annual tax filings.
  • Work closely with management to review all financial plans and compare to actual results with a view to identify, explain, and correct variances as appropriate and forecast any additional unplanned expenses.
  • Aid implementation and guarantee adherence to accounting policies and procedures.
  • Support the oversight of all year-end audit schedule preparations.
  • Provide financial analysis and operational support for staff, as well as guidance on all required policies and procedures.
  • Assist ELC's leadership in the annual budgeting and planning process.


GENERAL LEADERSHIP & DUTIES


  • Contribute to the achievement of established department goals and objectives and adhere to department policies, procedures, quality standards, and safety standards.

  • Supervise and develop staff to deliver programs and initiatives on time and within budget to meet technical and quality standards; manage direct reports' performance to achieve strategic initiatives/goals.
  • Maintain current professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing professional networks, and participating in professional associations.


Education, Experience & Credentials


  • A minimum of 5 years experience in finance or accounting in a professional association or similar environment
  • Previous supervisory experience
  • CPA Certification is required
  • Experience with all aspects of finance function including accounting, financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or other relevant academic discipline

Position Description


Core is looking for a Registered Nurse to provide acute dialysis treatment in the Houston, TX area on an as-needed basis. This RN will provide dialysis treatment to patients in various healthcare settings, such as hospitals, acute care, long-term care and rehabilitation facilities. The RN will follow the nursing process to ensure that each patient's needs are met.


  • Coverage can be needed at any time Monday through Friday, during weekends, and/or on holidays.
  • Notice is typically given 12-24 hours prior to the shift.
  • This is a PRN position.


Principal Duties And Responsibilities


  • Communicates effectively and in a timely manner with the healthcare facility's staff and other Core staff to ensure that all treatment processes are consistent with the patient's needs.
  • Ensures that all medication processes comply with all applicable regulatory standards and statutes.
  • Rotates with other Core Dialysis staff to ensure shift coverage.
  • Provides safe and effective treatment in compliance with the standards outlined in the Core Dialysis Policy and Procedure Manual, as well as regulations set forth by the state and federal agencies.
  • Serves as an educational resource for the patient and family regarding treatment, disease processes, access care, diet, infection control, treatment processes, and other topics as needed.
  • Accurately and efficiently prepares, administers, and documents all prescribed medications.
  • Maintains consistent and confidential documentation of all pertinent data, assessments, care plans and evaluations in the patient's medical record according to the healthcare facility's policies and procedures.
  • Follows all patient-specific and facility level policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Mobilizes appropriate resources to best meet those needs.
  • Applies assessment, planning, implementation/intervention, and evaluation processes to meet individual patient and facility needs.


Qualifications


  • Current RN license in the state of Texas.
  • COVID-19: Core Dialysis adheres to the guidelines set forth by the CDC and the state of Texas with regard to preventing the spread of the COVID-19 virus and its variants. While Core does not require employees to be vaccinated, the healthcare facilities we service do. Therefore, you must be able to provide proof of vaccination, or of a qualified religious or medical exemption, before you can begin working.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Reliable transportation to and from scheduled shifts.
  • Flexibility and availability to work at least 2 days per month.
  • At least 1 year of experience working on the floor as an RN.
  • Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English - bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.
  • Ability to complete physical tasks including, but not limited to, repositioning the patient, lifting and carrying supplies, lifting and handling equipment, bending over, reaching, and responding to any emergency situation that may arise during the treatment or in the healthcare facility where you are.

  • A dialysis assistant will take care of the pre- and post-dialysis tasks so that you can concentrate on performing the treatment and providing the highest quality of care to the patient.
  • Tandem treatments are paid at the full rate for the first treatment + half rate for the additional treatment.
  • Additional compensation for mileage reimbursement and treatment schedule delays outside of your control.
