Job Description
Summary You will serve as a Administrative Support Specialist of NAVSUP FLC NORVA GF. Responsibilities You will receive and read all incoming correspondence directed to the activity and initiates actions necessary for its proper disposition. You will utilize office automation systems to prepare letters, memorandums and reports. You will manage the operational schedule and assist with directing administrative operations for the office You will review all formal outgoing correspondence for proper format, grammar, punctuation in accordance with Agency correspondence guidance Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: utilizing a knowledge of administration programs, principals, policies and objectives. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Schedule conferences and meetings, including arranging logistic, preparing agendas, and notifying participants; 2) Responsible for purchasing supplies and equipment's; 3) Maintain control records and follow up measures on incoming correspondence and action documents to ensure proper handling; 4) Utilize electronic mail, electronic calendar systems and various software programs to prepare reports and briefings Additional qualification information can be found from the following Office of Personnel Management web site: https://www.opm.gov/policy-data-oversight/classification-qualifications/general-schedule-qualification-standards/#url=List-by-Occupational-Series Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Education In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience: GS-09 SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE: Applicants may substitute the following education for the required experience, provided it demonstrates the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to do the work of the position: possess a master's or equivalent graduate degree, LL.B, J.D., or have completed two full years of progressively higher graduate level education leading to such a degree. One year of full-time graduate education is considered to be the number of credit hours that the school attended has determined to represent 1 year of full-time study. If that information cannot be obtained from the school, 18 semester hours should be considered as satisfying the 1 year of full-time study requirement. GS-09 COMBINATION OF EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Combinations of successfully completed graduate education and experience may be used to meet total qualification requirements.
