Job Description

Duties

  • Anticipates potential problems, conflicts, and other undesirable conditions; and provides advice to minimize these challenges by identifying opportunities for improvement, developing background material, and making recommendations for resolutions.
  • Independently perform a variety of services for senior leadership with the ability to manage multiple complex projects/tasks simultaneously and provide timely accurate information.
  • Assists with report publication activities such as performing proofreading, preparing 508 accessible (disability access to electronic information) documents, and setting templates for OA communication.
  • Tracks, manages, and reviews OA awards budget, and reviews related documentation for compliance.
  • Independently identify, review, analyze, verify, compile, track, and/or summarize complex information from a wide variety of sources.
  • Develops procedures and protocols regarding administration operations throughout OA and serves as point-of-contact for OA management and support staff regarding administrative problems.
  • Coordinates and liaisons with internal and external parties on significant and substantive program matters (e.g., hotline complaints referred from Investigation, Congressional requests, Office of Counsel tracking systems, etc.).
  • Performs executive administrative support activities to facilitate effective management and administration of operations.

Qualifications

Applicants must meet all qualifications and eligibility requirements by the closing date of the announcement including specialized experience and/or education, as defined below.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: To be considered minimally qualified for this position, you must demonstrate that you have the required specialized experience for the respective grade level(s) in which you are applying.
Specialized experience for the GS-13: One full-time year of executive support experience equivalent to the GS-12 level in the Federal service or private sector. Specialized experience is defined as in-depth experience in 1) performing analytical processes sufficient to evaluate the interrelated issues affecting management programs and policies; 2) providing advice on potential problems and conflicts by identifying opportunities for improvement, developing background material, and making recommendations for resolution and 3) performing executive administrative support activities.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
