POSITION SUMMARY:
The Account Receivable Manager supervises the Medicaid and Medicare Coordinator’s which encompasses the entire billing process. The AR Manager initiates and tracks the Medicaid application process with the family through the completion of a grant. The AR Manager audit’s Medicaid residents to ensure billing guidelines are adhered to for the annual Utilization Review. The AR Manager audits and meets with the Business Manager monthly to review the status of receivables.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Audits Cost of Living adjustments, collaborate with County Assistance for corrections and/or changes.
- Provides the backup and cross training between the Medicaid and Medicare Coordinator positions.
- Completes other duties as assigned by Business Office Manager.
- Reviews financial policies and procedures with all new admissions, obtain copies of insurance cards, including prescription drug coverage.
- Supervises Medicaid, Medicare, Insurance and Private pay billing process.
- Audits monthly, Accounts Receivable log. Review status monthly with the Business Manager.
- Oversees annual audit of Utilization Management Review Team. Responsible for providing all necessary audit information as well as implementing any plan of correction required.
- Audits new MA approvals, verify insurance information, adjust and calculate new bills in ECS.
- Primary business office representative with the Admissions team, County Assistance Office and the Utilization Review team.
- Continuing Education with Department of Public Welfare and Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Service.
- Initiates and takes the lead role with families through the Long term care process, including but not limited to facilitating the Medical Assistance application, determining Medicaid effective date and tracking with the Department of Public Welfare.
- Initiates and tracks payer changes and notifies the interdisciplinary team.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

- Five (5) years’ working knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid regulations required.
- Minimum two (2) years’ computer experience with Microsoft Office Word and Excel, Promise system.
- Minimum two (2) years’ experience in the Financial Electronic System (ECS), American Data.
- Five (5) years’ experience in business office functions of a Long Term Care facility or equivalent.
- High school diploma or equivalent; management and advanced accounting education preferred.
