Job Description
AP/AR Manager – Full Time (40 hours weekly), on-site


Location – Bay Shore, NY

Island Pavement Cutting Co., Inc. is a well-respected, quality provider of Heavy/Highway and Specialty Construction Services. We are a family-owned and operated business, founded in 1966.


We are in search of an Accounts Payable/Receivable Manager to help us run our growing company.


The Role:


The Director of Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable Operations oversees all Billing and collections functions, including development of procedures and workflows, and some oversight of billing office staff. This role reports to the Controller and to the President.


  • Review and stay current on regulatory changes as pertain to our industry and federal contractors
  • Process all contract closeout paperwork and final payment
  • Oversee all AP and AR functions and staff for all current and new accounts
  • Interact with senior leadership and other teams
  • Process contract time and materials
  • Assess and improve current systems to improve efficiency and reduce errors
  • Process billing invoice credits for billing
  • Monitor adherence to internal fiscal policies
  • Lead office through new technology and process development and implementation
  • Oversee payroll and AP
  • Collaborate with other teams as needed
  • Provide direction, operational and strategic leadership to all aspects billing, including development/improvement of billing and collections procedures and workflows
  • Conduct and present appropriate statistical analyses and custom reports when needed
  • Direct development, implementation of and adherence to AP/AR policies, procedures and strategies
  • Entry of new contracts in QuickBooks
  • Oversee all monthly union dues reports and payments
  • Process contract change orders


What you’ll bring to the role:


  • Professional demeanor, especially in dealing with leadership and other teams
  • Expertise in MS Office, particularly Excel spreadsheets and Outlook scheduling
  • Strong verbal communication and writing skills
  • Experience managing a team
  • Comfort working with multiple departments in a fast-paced environment
  • Good working math skills for review of data
  • Experience in the construction industry is a plus
  • At least 5 years working in the AR or AP function
  • Track record of analyzing and improving processes
  • Attention to detail – to ensure compliance and oversight of the AP/AR team

What You’ll Do
