Founded in 1999 by former pediatrician and immunologist Avraham Kadar, M.D., in 2022, BrainPOP was acquired by KIRKBI—the family-owned holding and investment company of the LEGO® brand—in its first acquisition in digital learning.

As Accounting Associate, you will ensure that expense reports are approved, invoices are recorded, collections are up-to-date, and the accounting team is supported in any other projects or areas necessary. You will be an integral part of the team to help us stay timely with month-end close and interactions with customers and vendors.

In this role, you will:

• Assist in bill creation and approval using Stampli and NetSuite
• Assist in the creation and delivery of 1099s (annually)
• Communicate with all levels of management regarding expense report items inquiries and approvals or discrepancies.
• Process, review, verify and approve employee expense reports, ensuring proper documentation and adherence to policy guidelines.
• Reconcile expense reports with supporting receipts and ensure accurate coding for reimbursement.
• Assist in customer collection efforts, including email correspondence and phone calls
• Record journal entries as necessary
• Work with travel vendors and credit card providers to reconcile charges and ensure accurate recording.
• General support to the finance team and ad hoc projects as needed
• Create and submit monthly expense reports for the Controller’s Amex card
• Create, Prepare, and generate accurate invoices in NetSuite for orders processed

You are:

• A self-starter with good time management skills
• Able to work independently in a repetitive environment
• A strong communicator, both written and verbally
• Willing to take on new tasks and learn new things
• Highly organized and detail-oriented

On your resume:

• Bachelor’s Degree or Associate’s Degree (accounting preferred)
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel; Spreadsheet creation, basic formulas, V-Lookup
• Six months+ of experience (internships ok) in a professional business environment (accounting preferred)
• Experience with NetSuite, SalesForce, and Concur a plus but not required

The starting salary for this role is between $52,000 - $60,000, depending on skills and experience. We take a geo-neutral approach to compensation within the US, meaning that we pay based on job function and level, not location. We have competitive pay bands for all other countries based on market standards. Individual compensation decisions are based on several factors, including experience level, skill set, and balancing internal equity relative to peers at the company. Based on these factors, we expect most of the candidates offered roles at our company to fall healthily throughout the range. We recognize that the person we hire may be less experienced (or more senior) than this job description, as posted. If so, the updated salary range will be communicated to you as a candidate.
