Job Overview:
An Accountant I in the Inventory area of Gross Margin supports the financial and systemic integrity of the merchandise item reporting file to the retail stock ledger. This position also supports the balancing and systemic integrity of the sales systems. This position also assists with financial inventories and RFID cycle counts, with responsibilities including updating results, performing analytics and reporting to various groups, researching variances, testing system enhancements, and more. The colleague is also responsible for fulfillment and performing other duties as necessary. Both accounting principles and data analytics are thoroughly used to accomplish both reoccurring and ad hoc tasks. This position is based out of Springdale, OH.
Essential Functions:
- Perform weekly reconciliation of retail stock ledger versus item file and TDEB merchandise databases, research, report, follow up on any required fixes or enhancements.
- Perform daily and weekly balancing of the sales systems related to gross and net sales.
- Analytical review, testing and implementation of system enhancements, assist in the development of methodologies, assist with training activities.
- Participate in RFID cycle count definition and reconciliation, create and perform analyses, recommend and support unit adjustments.
- Regular, dependable attendance and punctuality.
- Create financial analyses, develop and execute SQL and EZT programs to extract data from multiple data sets, maintain as necessary, initiate changes as processes evolve.
- Manage process of merchandise allowances from retail to expense/balance sheet, ensure proper taxation occurs for awards.
- Manage financial aspect of merchandise loan room for Corporate Marketing and Events.
- Participate in the reconciliation of retail financial inventories, prepare and approve adjusting entries, balance inventory systems.
- Support all aspects of the company’s RFID program including, but not limited to Reporting, analyzing results, vendor collaboration, software development, and helping design and test new technologies and initiatives.
Qualifications and Competencies:
- Ability to work a flexible schedule based on department and Company needs.
- Excellent leadership, facilitation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work across functional lines and at many levels.
- Bachelor's Degree from a 4-year college or university
- Knowledge of MS Office computer programs are required
- 1-2 years related experience
- Ability to think creatively, strategically and technically
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Mathematics, Information Systems or related field required with one year of related experience preferred.
- Practices open and continuous communication, values keeping others informed, effectively presenting information in a clear, concise manner.
