Job Description
The LCMS group within the R&D Discovery and Technology Futures group is looking for a creative and energetic Scientist specializing in proteomics to join the discovery team. The successful candidate will join a team of experienced scientists at the BS/MS and PhD levels to support biomarker discovery projects. We are looking for a highly motivated individual who has strong wet-bench and instrumentation skills and is a team player.
What you can expect:
Integral part of a dynamic LCMS Discovery team that develops novel and robust multiomic biomarker assays.
Use cutting edge instrumentation and analysis software to dig deep into the world of proteomics, glycoproteomics, metabolomics, and lipidomics across blood, urine, tissue and fecal samples.
Perform large biomarker studies, including sample preparation, fractionation, UPLC-MS/MS and data processing.
Prepares materials, performs experiments, analyzes data, and reaches conclusions.
Perform basic maintenance and troubleshooting of UPLCs and mass spectrometers.
Document experiments and other lab activities. Prepare reports and summaries. Present results and conclusions.
Order and maintain necessary reagents, consumables, and other supplies.
Interface with multiple cross-functional teams to support new product development and on-market products.
What you need to succeed:
Bs or MS in chemistry or biochemistry with 6-9 years of industry experience.
Demonstrated experience working with and developing protocols for a wide variety of sample types; plasma/serum proteomic experience preferred.
Experience with Thermo Vanquish UPLC systems, nano UPLC experience is a plus.
Experience with common proteomic and metabolomic software packages.
Detail-oriented and ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities.
Demonstrated ability to critically evaluate and interpret results.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Ability to take initiative and be accountable.
