THE CLIENT


Our client is a privately owned and well-established manufacturer specialising in the Design, Production and Maintenance of aircraft interiors and associated equipment. The company has operations and a well-established relationship with one of the leading airlines in the US, and off the back of that they are targeting significant growth for North America.

The company has been operating for over 40 years and has built up an enviable reputation, building strong relationships with some of the largest commercial airlines.

They are currently implementing major growth plans to expand their overseas presence and afford more support than ever to its many customers around the world. Our client’s aim is to be the aviation industry’s supplier of choice for aircraft interiors.

As part of the company’s growth plans, the senior management team want to recruit a VP of Sales for North America who has a very strong commercial background within the industry. The US business has predominantly focused on serving their contract with one of their largest clients, but now they would like to expand their footprint and client base in the US market, which will lead them to expanding their manufacturing facility in line with business growth.


THE ROLE VP OF SALES NORTH AMERICA

Due to business growth plans and international expansion, our client is looking to recruit a highly experienced VP of Sales to join as part of the senior management team. The incoming VP of Sales will focus on developing and driving the sales and marketing strategy for the region, developing successful relationships with key stakeholders and decision-makers at new and existing clients to grow the business significantly over the next three years from $2m to $10m.

The VP of Sales will be responsible for developing and executing the commercial pipeline of opportunities across the North America region, playing a hands-on role in the growth and conversion of new commercial partnerships with major commercial airlines, while developing a high performing sales team in the region.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

You will need to demonstrate experience of the following:


  • Extensive negotiation experience.
  • Experience of successfully working to challenging timelines.
  • Advanced skills in the following: managing change, negotiation, adaptability, decision making, and problem-solving.
  • Experience coaching, mentoring and leading high-performance teams.
  • Demonstrable experience of successfully growing a business within the industry, developing and mentoring high-performance sales teams to meet and exceed targets on a consistent basis.
  • Self-starter with proactive working attitude, leads by example.
  • Strong leader, with demonstrable track record of growing and developing a similar business.
  • Experience in successfully defining and implementing a Sales strategy focused on sales growth enhanced profitability.
  • Skilled in organisational development, personnel management, budget/resource development and strategic planning.
  • Experience of developing new markets/introducing products and ideas into new areas.
  • A Strategic operator with the ability to adapt to fast paced environments.
  • A proven track record of adaptability in multi-cultural environments.
  • Excellent collaboration and commercial leaderships skills, with experience of operating at VP/ Director level within a comparable or larger manufacturing organisation, defining and shaping the sales strategy.
  • Demonstrated resourcefulness in setting priorities and guiding investment in people and systems.
  • Successful and demonstrable track record of winning and executing valuable contracts within the commercial aviation sector, preferably aircraft interiors.
  • 10+ years’ experience operating in a Sales leadership position within relevant industries and companies of comparable or larger size.
