We are excited to open the new position of VP of Logistics! The VP of Logistics would be tasked with creating and implementing a strategic plan to formalize and maintain a brokerage department.This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced candidate who thrives in creating successful systems and developing top-notch teams!


Essential Duties and Responsibilities will include the following:


  • Develop and manage KPI’s (On-time Performance, Margin, Lane Balances).
  • Develop and implement processes to improve efficiency and profitability.
  • Builds, trains, and supports a high performing brokerage services team.
  • Automate all functionality (sales commissions, etc) and improve efficiencies & flow (check calls, sales leads, CRM, usage of DocuSign or other electronic forms for contracts, etc).
  • Represent 24/7 Express Logistics in a professional manner when giving presentations and meeting potential new business
  • Manage departmental performance using a range of objective and financial measures.
  • Develops carrier sales techniques focused on carrier development, capacity management and rate negotiations.
  • Develops top talent as part of overall growth and succession planning strategy.
  • Create real-time reporting for complete visibility for management team
  • Evaluate TMS systems and 3rd Party software and be able to implement.
  • Manage all levels of brokerage business development, account management and brokerage operations.
  • Help develop marketing collateral for sales team and conte
  • Establish relationships, trust, and integrity with potential new clients
  • Acquires new customers by leading the tactical customer focused selling of brokerage services.
  • Creates and maintains a strategic business plan to formalize a brokerage department including sales goals, projections, and timelines.


Qualifications and Experience:

  • 5+ years of brokerage industry experience, familiarity with modern brokerage practices.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to close and manage large account business and drive organic growth of existing accounts.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to maintain the highly confidential nature of records.
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities and projects and delegate as necessary.
  • Effective problem-solving skills.
  • Four-year Undergraduate Degree in a related field.
  • Entrepreneurial and sales mindset with experience building, leading, driving and managing rapid growth within a freight brokerage organization.
  • Proven track record in building scalable, repeatable processes and a disciplined, data driven culture.
  • Experience with multiple modes of transportation.
  • Proficient in Microsoft office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Maintains knowledge of leading Broker Boards.
  • Experience with Transportation Management Systems (TMS).
  • Ability to operate under tight deadlines.
  • Embrace change and develop new ideas
  • 3+ years experience in managing multiple team members.
  • Competent skills to produce accurate and well-presented reports.
