Job Description

The Vice President, People Insights for The Walt Disney Company (TWDC) serves as a key member of the organization's Human Resources leadership team and will play a critical role in supporting the operational and strategic goals of the Human Resources function through impactful data and analytics. We are looking for a strategic operator who will combine sophisticated analytical thinking, collaborative business acumen and excellent leadership capabilities to deliver information and insights that enable effective organization and talent decisions.

This individual will lead a team focused on helping our HR partners and business leaders better understand our employees and organizations, identifying opportunities to drive impactful change to optimize business performance and enhance the employee and cast member experience through progressive “listening” processes and practical, informative reporting, advanced analyses, and insights.

In addition, the Vice President, People Insights will coordinate and facilitate the data and analytics community within HR by bringing together key leaders from across the function, including segment and functional partners. This leader will support this community by ensuring clear roles and accountabilities, common processes, setting clear standards and identifying opportunities to support the business, our employees and one another.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive quality assurance and continuous improvement processes to ensure we are meeting the highest standards of excellence
  • Distills complex data insights into compelling and simple stories for a broad range of non-technical stakeholders
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships, based on trust, with HR leaders and key business leaders
  • Set priorities that focus PI teams on impactful work and define the long-term strategy for the function
  • Drive a team culture that prioritizes the accuracy, timeliness and relevancy of our data, trends, reports, and insights
  • Leverage knowledge of data infrastructure and data engineering to partner heavily with Enterprise IT on the data strategy
  • Partner with stakeholders in HR and Finance to ensure org/people data and related processes represent and maintain a “single source of truth”
  • Ensure effective delivery of core data and reporting
  • Identify the skills and expertise needed to build a world class HR analytics team that can effectively drive measurable impact
  • Lead a multi-functional team including consulting, data/reporting solutions, governance, visualization, surveying/research, and advanced analytics

Qualifications

  • Senior HR leadership experience in a global organization, with emphasis on building HR analytics programs and strategies to support employee experience, talent strategy and business performance
  • Extensive knowledge of databases, analytical tools, and big data
  • Diversity, equity, and inclusion advocate
  • Ability to lead multiple, large data/analytics projects in fast-paced matrix with experience in evaluating program effectiveness and impact
  • Experience with international data regulations and privacy requirements
  • Experience leading employee survey programs with a focus on assessing employee experience, identifying opportunities, and driving action
  • Enthusiasm for managing/leading others and capable of building trust
  • Outstanding consultative, critical thinking and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in a related field
  • Experience working in The Walt Disney Company successfully driving complex projects and decision-making across businesses and functions

The hiring range for this position in California is $229,026.00 - $307,230.00 per year, which factors in various geographic regions. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
