Job Description

We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced VP of Sales to join a dynamic bakery business. As the leader of their sales organization within the region, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing their sales vision, ensuring the right processes, systems, people, and culture are in place to achieve success in the market.


Responsibilities:

  • Participate in national campaigns and promotions.
  • Recruit and develop local sales leadership and sales associates.
  • Manage performance and leadership development of regional sales managers, director of business resources, director of business development, director of contract sales, director of sales operations, and other direct reports.
  • Direct and enable customer engagement efforts, working closely with specialists, customer success teams, and other resources.
  • Maximize the productivity of selling resources, such as specialists, to drive profitable market share growth.
  • Lead a high-performing local sales organization, responsible for driving market share growth.
  • Meet and exceed company plan objectives established during the annual planning period.
  • Implement key corporate/market changes and programs across all sales positions, ensuring behaviour changes and performance metrics are achieved.
  • Manage major and critical developing client accounts and coordinate the management of all other accounts.
  • Lead the strategy for the development of sales associates and managers, utilizing the CMP process.
  • Execute strategies to deliver sales budgets and regional profit plans.
  • Represent the company professionally at various community and business meetings to promote our brand.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional departments, including Speciality, Regional VP's, Market, and corporate teams, to establish productive working relationships.
  • Leverage sales resources, such as key account representatives, experts, customer success teams, and centralized customer care, to manage sales activities efficiently.


Education/Experience:

  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree in a related field or 10 years of sales experience, with at least 7 years leading a B2B sales team in a professional sales environment with demonstrated success.


Knowledge & Skills:

  • Embraces change and champions corporate initiatives.
  • Previous experience working within the baked goods industry.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively communicate with internal and external teams.
  • Strong performance management capabilities with direct reports.
  • Solid analytical and problem-solving skills, including proficiency in analyzing reports and deriving insights from data.
  • Ability to learn and utilize proprietary CRM tools for planning and forecasting sales growth.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Applications Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Experience leading a team of high-performing sales associates, delivering against deadlines and producing high-quality results.
  • Strong financial acumen and ability to plan and execute business plans effectively.
  • Ability to understand and communicate information in terms of profit and loss, food cost, and expense ratio.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with and influence key stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to coach, mentor, and influence peers and associates.
