Job Purpose/Summary
We are seeking a Vice President of Product Management who will be responsible for the operations, maintenance, and software development of our insurance billing application. The ideal candidate will have experience with emergency services billing applications, project management capabilities, user story writing ability, and experience with JIRA. The Vice President of Product Management will prioritize software defects and enhancements and interact with the CxOs of the company. The candidate should have strong knowledge of Advance Claims and previous experience managing a product for a software development company. The candidate should also possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Understand the business process and communicate requirements to the development team
- Manage a project schedule
- Become familiar with technologies utilized. Participate as a team member in activities needed to get the job done such as BA and QA activities.
- Document Requirements/Use Cases by interviewing business owners and SME’s.
- Communicate and manage scope with business owner
- SME for HIPAA Transaction set and able to write requirements/user stories
- Manage ongoing O&M efforts
- Run prioritization meetings to understand user needs and prioritize requirements
- Develop and produce status reports
- Communicate with CxO level individuals in regards to issues and make necessary decisions to correct
- Assist with Quality Assurance and create QA Test plan’s and be able to help with QA
- Schedule releases and build release notes
- Facilitate Scrum Meetings and back log prioritization
- Keep up with industry & regulatory changes that affect the application and ensure those changes are being developed in accordance to published timelines.
- Responsible for the overall enhancements, roadmap and defect resolution of the billing application.
- PM Tools: JIRA, MS Office, Project and SharePoint.
- Work with other IT departments to ensure the application is safe, secure and performing
- Track and service deliverables in agile and waterfall methodologies, providing weekly progress reports against the plan

- Team player that’s willing to take on new responsibilities with enthusiasm and roll up their sleeves whenever it’s needed.
Minimum Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience required
Experience:
- Minimum of 10 - 12 years of experience in software/product development
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
- Experience communicating with Senior Executives
- Ability to interact with the development team, understand the business process so to ensure the application meets the business requirements
- Experience prioritizing requests from multiple departments and leading sessions to determine ROI & Priority
- Ability to create project presentations, organize scrum’s, sprint demo’s and backlog grooming
- Experience defining project direction, vision, roadmap and managing to that roadmap
- Experience with the Agile Process and leading a Scrum team
- JIRA experience is a plus
- Experience managing a development team for both enhancements and Operations & Maintenance
- Experience in writing use cases and documenting requirements
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to produce status reports, manage a budget and a project schedule
- Experience with Quality Assurance, the ability to create a test plan and execute and document test cases
- Strong communication skills particularly in written documentation (user stories, operating procedures, process flow mapping etc)
- Experience managing a quality assurance
