Job Description
Original X Productions is seeking a Vice President of Production Operations to join our fast-growing company. You will be responsible for overseeing the global production of flagship and touring location-based entertainment properties. OGX works with the world’s largest intellectual property rights holders to create memorable location-based experiences such as Harry Potter: Magic at Play, The Friends Experience, and The Office Experience. You will play a crucial role in managing the production design and operations teams that produces the experiences, overseeing operations of our venues to ensure seamless execution, and fostering a high-performing organizational culture. This position reports to the Chief Executive Officer.


Responsibilities:
  • Quality and Compliance: Ensure adherence with industry regulations, health and safety standards, and legal requirements. Implement processes to maintain high standards of service and customer satisfaction. Stay up-to-date with trends and best practices and incorporate into company’s strategies.
  • Production management: architecture, engineering, CAD layouts, fabrication, custom technology
  • Location-based Experience Operations: Oversee both employed and contracted teams who are responsible for:
  • Facilities operations: permits, inspections, compliance, safety, site preparation, venue maintenance, repairs, shipping and receiving, parking, infrastructure, equipment, signage, uniforms, utilities, security, janitorial, etc
  • Revenue operations: box office and ticketing platform management, concessions, photos, premium, private events, and retail
  • Budgeting and Performance Management: Work closely with cross-functional teams to develop and manage operational budgets, forecasting, and financial planning. Monitor KPIs and metrics to track performance and continuously focus on revenue-generating and cost savings opportunities.
  • Guest operations: guest services, technical support, customer satisfaction, service recovery, safety and security
  • On-site staff management: recruitment, onboarding, scheduling, payroll, customer engagement
  • Able to identify suitable locations where existing sets can be optimized with minimal adjustments.
  • Team Leadership and Development: Provide strong leadership and guidance to teams and partners. Promote a culture a continuous improvement and growth mindset within the organization.
  • Design and production: master planning, research and development, design intent, scenic design, AV design, graphic design, art design
  • Process Optimization and Efficiency: Evaluate existing processes and systems and leverage resources to drive operational excellence. Implement best practices and standard operating procedures to ensure consistent and high value operations. This may include but is not limited to productions schedule/budget, competitive bidding for design and fabrication requirements, ticketing and other venue operations systems, install/removal, facilities operations, and staffing.
  • Design and Production Management: Oversee both employed and contracted teams who are responsible for:
  • Logistics: Establish an efficient process to manage the transportation logistics and labor for the install/removal of each production to ensure the experience is presented at the highest


Competencies and Qualifications:


  • Proven experience in a productions and operations leadership role in entertainment, hospitality, or tourism. Location-based entertainment (LBE) industry experience .
  • Competency in Microsoft and Google suites
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • Firm knowledge of insurance and liability
  • Excellent financial acumen and experience in managing P&L, budgets, contracts, financial planning, and performance metrics.
  • Highly collaborative and team-oriented to enable business operations to fully integrate with Experiences and supporting teams.
  • Adept at planning, prioritizing, organizing, and following through.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities to drive results and coach teams with continuous improvement mindset.
  • Ability to use DWG/CAD or Vector works preferred
  • 10 to 15 years experience in this field
  • OSHA certified preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree and


The salary range for this role considers a range of variables used in making compensation decisions and may include but is not limited to; experience, training, licenses, certifications, skills sets, business needs, travel. Compensation decisions are dependent on the unique variables that are present, a reasonable estimate of the current range is $165,000- $225,000. This range has not been adjusted based on the geographic location of the successful incumbent.
