About the company

Our client is a rapidly expanding payments scale-up offering a diverse range of products. From remittances to a proprietary e-commerce/POS solution, it offers a full range of solutions across both the B2C and B2B markets targeting users in Africa. Primarily focusing on providing a payment infrastructure for global merchants and payment service providers across the continent to promote greater financial inclusion. As they head towards their IPO, they are looking for a global SVP of Product to bring continuity across their globally-based product team.

Responsibilities include:

• Align team with end-to-end product line vision and the company’s business strategy,
• Ensuring that they set clear objectives for the team and maintaining focus on the
• Driving customer research, discovery and defining customer value for our products
• Objectives
• External stakeholders
• Awareness of our key competitors and ongoing monitoring of competitor offering
• Provide the required tools for the product team to be successful
• Develop, maintain, and communicate an ambitious end-to-end roadmap to internal and
• Awareness of Regulatory compliance and legal positioning
• Manage the product department of 5 and growing individuals and help recruit more.
• Communicate with senior stakeholders on the strategy for the product area and
• Providing clear progress of initiatives
• Coaching them in customer centric, data driven Product Management
• Goals/OKRs, and key KPIs.
• The product to achieve success metrics
• Be responsible for the measurement and success of the product in-life and iterating on
• Define the Product Vision, Strategy, and Roadmap

What You’ll Need:

• Experience in managing in payments/FinTech
• Has outstanding verbal and written communication skills
• Experience leading a global product team of UX, research, product design and product
• An innovative problem solver
• Track record of leading several products to successful commercial outcomes; must be able to demonstrate multiple complete product cycles from inception to full-scale success showing material impact to business outcomes.
• Is self-motivated, organised and able to drive the Product Strategy
• Owners
• Has ability to thrive in a fast paced, results driven environment
• Able to demonstrate successful implementation of prioritisation frameworks.
• Experience managing P&L
