Job Overview:

The Head of Marketing orchestrates customer acquisition in its entirety, owning the brand strategy, orchestrating go-to-market campaign development and driving realization with creative execution and production. An exciting and pivotal part of this role is the development, operationalization and acceleration of a content marketing function which will serve to realize campaign strategies and consistently Make Joy Easy for consumers by delivering content experiences comprised of the right content, at the right time, in the right channel. The Head of Marketing oversees all elements of the brand including positioning and development, maintaining our strong household awareness, while building future consideration and conversion, and ensuring consistent communication of the brand image and ethos to all constituencies. The Head of Marketing is a passionate, customer-first marketer who thrives on innovation, creativity and compelling storytelling and is guided by consumer insights and data. The Head of Marketing will foster a culture of curiosity, customer obsession and an it-can-be-done attitude among team-members and peers.


Responsibilities and Duties:

• Responsible for the brand positioning, voice and value proposition – telling the Party City story in an easy, attainable, and functionally inspiring way.

• Develops compelling GTM strategies in partnership with the sales planning team to deliver short-term and long-term sales goals, accelerate growth, and build long-range brand equity.

• Leads the marketing team in the development of campaigns to build awareness, consideration and conversion and deliver omni-channel retail sales goals.

• Develops customer marketing strategies and programs to support new product and service offerings, grow share of wallet, and increase consumer consideration for the PC brand.

• Oversees both UX And UI for the Party City retail website, partnering closely with the Head of Digital Sales to deliver optimized user experiences which will accelerate digital commerce sales.

• Leads a nimble and responsive content marketing and production team, able to balance strategic long-range execution within the moment, culturally relevant execution to maximize opportunities for the brand to get noticed.

• Oversees the creative studio team, producing the right creative for the right channels for inter and intra-departments including product, merchandising and e-commerce.

• Leverages digitization, automation and production practices to enable content creation at scale.

• Defines enterprise consumer and customer insights strategy, gathers research, and synthesizes information across the organization to provide meaningful and actionable outcomes.

• Defines experiential, affiliate and partnership marketing strategy and leads concepts to fruition, building strong brand alliances.

• Develops grass-roots marketing strategies that tap into brand ambassadors, associate ambassadors, and the communities in which we serve.

• Builds, supports, inspires and develops a high functioning, results oriented, collaborative and energized team across the disciplines of demand generation, customer marketing, advertising, digital and social marketing, market and competitive analysis and customer facing digital experiences.

• Establishes measurement framework for tracking results and performance across each marketing channel, analyzing the linkages between strategy and creative, governed by a culture of ROI based decision making.


Skills Required:


• Experience leading digital first campaigns with a deep understanding of digital marketing channels and creative requirements which drive performance of each.

• Demonstrated track record of delivering strong business outcomes, setting challenging yet achievable goals and holding team members accountable for results.

• Proven ability to build and develop high-performing teams.

• Proven experience with content strategy

• Strong collaboration with ability to foster positive working relationships with peers, team members, working effectively across functions, levels and business units.

• Superior leader capable of influencing others and developing an engaged culture.

• Experience capturing market share as an innovator/disruptor in a competitive market.

• Proven track record of driving down the cost of customer acquisition, automating systems and building a highly scalable content marketing engine.

• Must be creative, resourceful, and decisive with strong problem-solving skills, able to manage multiple projects, meet/exceed deadlines and expectations and adjust quickly and effectively to change and challenges.


Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in business, technology, marketing or directly related field, and/or equivalent experience.

• 15+ years of experience in the following marketing areas: media mix models, technology marketing, loyalty, audience segmentation, long/short range planning, acquisition and customer marketing, CRM, integrated planning and digital media mix planning and analytics with an omni-channel retailer as a line executive vs. consultant/agency (consultant/agency experience is okay however we are seeking a candidate with 75% recent corporate line executive expertise)

• Proven success in fast-paced, change-oriented environments with multiple headwind factors

• Ability to swing from strategy to activation, coach/player mentality.

• 5+ years of P&L management

• Advanced understanding of overall cross-platform attribution with deep experience in digital media attribution.

• Superior communication skills with the proven ability to create business cases for changing stories from data that are clear and compelling.

• Superior analytical and financial skills, including strong ability to identify and solve ambiguous problems through data.

• High attention to detail and proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously.


Expected Salary Range: $225,000- $245,000

The salary range offered for this position is a good-faith description of the expected salary range this role will pay. PCHI reserves the right to pay more or less than the stated range based on a variety of factors such as experience, geography, etc.
