POSITION OVERVIEW :
Under the direction of Complex Infrastructure Senior Vice President, the ideal candidate will be able to plan, direct, and control all activities of a Complex Infrastructure Directorate through subordinate project managers who, in turn, are responsible for the overall growth and profit objectives of their respective projects.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Ensures that approved policies and established objectives are clearly understood and effectively applied in the Complex Infrastructure Directorate. Reviews and approves operating plans, programs, capital and expense budgets submitted by projects within Complex Infrastructure Directorate.
- Reviews and evaluates contracts, appropriations, and expenditure requests submitted by subordinate managers. Approves those within authority, and submits those beyond authority to top management along with recommendations.
- In line with corporate business objectives, establishes short and long-term operating and financial objectives for the Complex Infrastructure Directorate.
- Measures the results of each operating unit’s activities against established schedules and financial objectives. Takes appropriate remedial action as necessary.
- Assesses present and future needs, trends, problems, and identifies profit opportunities within the Complex Infrastructure Directorate.
- Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
- Participates in development of policies and procedures related to the operations of the Complex Infrastructure Directorate.
- Reviews and appraises performance of subordinate managers and recommends compensation changes as appropriate. Approves compensation changes for personnel within Complex Infrastructure. Ensures that the organizational structure of Complex Infrastructure is efficiently planned and adequately and competently staffed.
PREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
4-year degree in related field and 20+ years of broad and diversified experience. Professional registration or certification in field of expertise and active membership in a professional society is also required.
SKILLS/COMPETENCIES :
Proven ability for managing a large and diverse group of construction personnel within Complex Infrastructure and providing direction for resolving complex work assignments. Also requires expert knowledge of standard practices within construction, as well as applicable codes and regulations. Must be knowledgeable of best practices for utilizing communication technology, automation, and various software applications in order to achieve the highest level of productivity within Complex Infrastructure. Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to make effective presentations to senior management, must also be demonstrated.
