US Benefits Administrator (Title For Posting)

The Role


As the Benefits Administrator, you will report to the Vice President of People and Culture and be the expert in all things Benefits. We are seeking someone who is results focused with strong organization, analytical skills, and facilitation skills.


What You’ll Be Doing


  • Collaborate with the People Partner team to maintain employee records.
  • Compile, review, and monitor statistical reports, statements, and summaries related to pay and benefits accounts.
  • Provide information and answer employees inquiries regarding benefits & payroll-related matters.
  • Maintains accurate record keeping of all benefit costs.
  • Prepare earnings statements indicating gross and net salaries and deductions such as taxes.
  • Prepare and balance weekly and monthly reports and reconcile issued payrolls to benefits statements for all of Tundra’s divisions.
  • Maintain and update employee information, such as employee attendance, leave and overtime, and benefit entitlement in the Payroll system.
  • Administrate annual benefit audit and open enrollment.
  • Complete and process forms and documentation for the administration of benefits such as pension plans, leaves, employment, and medical insurance.
  • Prepare, verify, and process all employee payroll related to benefits payments.
  • Update and maintain instructions, procedures, and processes
  • Host employee benefit training and create benefit communication to enhance employee engagement with benefits.
  • Stays abreast of emerging benefits trends, recommending changes or additional offerings to management for consideration.


Payroll Administration


  • Reviews and confirms processing of monthly invoices, ensuring accuracy, resolving discrepancies, and submitting for payment promptly.
  • Assures proper administration and employee communication for court-ordered requirements such as tax levies, garnishments, and support orders.
  • Oversees handling all paperwork and issues related to payroll tax reporting, interfacing with tax service providers as needed.
  • Identify and resolve payroll discrepancies. Communicate to members. Establish payment plans with members as needed for retroactive deductions.
  • Liaison between CRA, Service Canada, Workers’ Compensation, insurance brokers, and benefits provider


Who You Are


  • 1-2 years Proven experience a benefits administrator US experienced required Canadian experience a nice to have
  • Outstanding organizational ability with great attention to detail
  • Understanding of data recording and analysis
  • Customer service centric
  • Trustworthy with attention to confidentiality
  • Experience with payroll software (ADP is a plus)
  • Fluent in French and English, oral and written a nice to have
