Unit-Based Program Manager (Employment Services, Hybrid position)
Employment services are designed to help a person learn about competitive, integrated employment; find a job that incorporates their strengths and interests; and maintain long-term employment. The Unit-Based Program Manager (Employment Services, Hybrid position) is responsible for the development, coordination, and management of the daily operations of an Employment Services caseload in the Unit-Based Department. Areas of responsibility include ensuring orientation and ongoing training and development of staff and ensuring all aspects of the program are developed, implemented, coordinated, and monitored to the highest degree possible. The Unit-Based Program Manager has a role in helping to ensure financial best practices are maintained in the department. This is a hybrid position that includes a weekly schedule of working directly with people in the community, from the Dungarvin office, and remotely, following completion of the orientation period. This position requires transportation of people in staff’s personal vehicle, all mileage accrued while on shift is reimbursed. Candidates must support the full integration of adults with disabilities in the community, provide person-centered, strengths-based services and a commitment to competitive, integrated employment. The Program Manager should have direct communication and access to the supervisor.
- Ability to demonstrate de-escalation techniques, conflict resolution, positive support methods, and person-centered approaches with youth and adults who may present significant mental health symptoms, physical and verbal aggression, property destruction, chemical dependence, brain injury and cognitive impairments.
- Employment services experience preferred.
- Ability to effectively work 1:1 with people.
- Ability to network with community businesses to generate and secure employment opportunities.
- Designated coordinator qualifications are required; designated manager qualifications are preferred.
- Ability to understand and implement behavior support plans, treatment plans, functional assessments, individualized support plans, and person-centered plans.
- Ability to assess situations and make sound judgments when given guidance and priorities. Ability to anticipate possible outcomes of actions and react accordingly.
- Ability to plan and prioritize work to manage time effectively and accomplish assigned tasks. Ability to self-manage tasks effectively and communicate needs.
