Job Duties

The Judicial system seeks an experienced Training and Development Specialist to be an integral part of the fast-paced day-to-day operations of the Department of Human Resources. The Training and Development Specialist will. provide strategic, innovative, and operational leadership in the assessment, design, development, and implementation of HR-related training and development programs.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Administers training and instruction in the areas of HR, supervision, and management.

  • Enhances workforce development by engaging employees and assessing training and development needs.

  • Assesses and creates training models and programs which are offered on an ongoing basis.

  • Facilitates, engages, and leads groups in achieving training standards and assesses knowledge retention by evaluation methods.

  • Develops and administers various training via eLearning. Assists with eLearning resources, including the Judicial Learning Center.

  • Designs, develops, and evaluates educational, and training materials and plans.

  • Monitors educational and training activities to ensure compliance.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Experience in designing, developing, and delivering training with excellent in-person and virtual facilitation skills.

  • Can work effectively in a team-based environment using both verbal and written communication skills.

  • Have basic knowledge of computers and computer software including Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Experience in designing relative, meaningful, and useful graphics.

  • Ability to optimize training applications to their full capacity to develop interactive e-learning courses.

  • Ability to align training content with HR policies and federal and state employment laws.

  • Ability to maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders across the Judicial system.

Preferred Qualifications

Degree from an accredited college or university with coursework in human resources, education, training, criminal justice, a related field, or equivalent applicable education, experience, and/or training.
