Posted at | 9 months ago |
The CHRIS 180 mission is to heal children, strengthen families and build community. We help children, adults, and families who have experienced trauma change the direction of their lives to become more productive, self-sufficient members of the community. We do this through mental health counseling, training, providing safe housing, and real-world skill building.
CHRIS 180 is committed to collaboration, the use of the best available science, evidence-based practices, and a trauma-informed organizational culture, policies, and practices that facilitate and support resiliency, recovery, and self-sufficiency and that prevent trauma from occurring or reoccurring wherever possible.
Training Department
The CHRIS Training Institute is a social enterprise startup embedded in the organization with the purpose of developing and providing training to human services staff, clinicians, educators, and first responders on trauma and how to be trauma-informed. We are a startup in our first year, so we are developing new training on many topics which include trauma-informed supervision and leadership, gender and sexuality, self-care and resiliency, and many other topics. We use a trauma-informed approach and lens in creating our curriculum.
Our training workshops are designed for adult learning with small group activities, time for group and self-reflection, and takeaway action steps participants can use in their daily work and lives. We provide continuing education credits for licensed therapists in three disciplines. Our training is open to the public and we design specific trauma-informed training workshops for organizations and companies.
Candidate
We are seeking an individual that loves training, can design new training curricula, and has a passion for being in front of people interacting with and engaging them in learning new ideas, interventions, and insights into how to do their jobs differently. This individual must be able to work in a demanding environment with constant deliverables and many different work and training situations. As a social enterprise, we are looking for a person with a strong entrepreneurial spirit who can focus on our goals and the completion of projects in a fast-paced client focused world. The ideal candidate would have a persuasive motivational selling style with their training participants leaving wanting more.
The job requires the person to be outgoing, a self-starter, and willing to go the extra mile to make training exciting, interactive and meet the learning objectives. The person must be able to juggle tasks simultaneously, develop a new curriculum in a timely fashion, and be willing to work under pressure and with shifting priorities, deadlines, and/or goals.
Key Job Responsibilities
Training Design and Development
Must be a licensed therapist with a master’s degree and licensing in social work, clinical psychology, or marriage and family therapy.
At least five years of experience working in the human services field. Experience in delivering training that includes developing instructional materials, lesson plans, and program evaluation. At least two years prior experience in providing training.
The Training Specialist II should possess knowledge and/or experience in the use of computer software such as Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and/or other graphics or presentation software and in the use of audio-visual equipment. Must be proficient in managing online training delivery and content.
