Job Description

The head office of Sécheron is located in Geneva, Switzerland. For the extension of our team, we are seeking to hire in the USA a dynamic and motivated Sales and Business Development Manager.

In this role, you are responsible for the acquisition of potential projects and subsystems for the Railway Industry. This includes new opportunities, identifications, the introduction of our products and solutions to the customers, challenging technical advice to the customers, the selling of our products as well as commercial negotiations and the ongoing support of good relations with new and long-term established customers as well. You handle projects by starting with price calculations and coordination of technical concepts together with our internal teams to finally establish tailor-made contracts for the customers. You help to develop the strategic focus in the specific markets and after that also take the responsibility to fulfil the yearly sales budget for these markets. On top of that, you act as a market specialist for all business cases between the customer and our company.

You will approximately travel between 30% and 40% of your time.

This role is fully remote, and it is preferred that the candidate is located on the East Coast.

The main responsibilities associated with this important role are:

  • Manage existing customer relationships to maintain and grow current business.
  • Meet, and/or exceed annual budgeted sales goals.
  • Coordination with Sécheron HQ in Switzerland.
  • Promotion, bid preparation, tendering, estimation and acquisition actions according to the strategy, budget, action plan and special instructions established by the Head of Sales & Marketing and/or requested by Clients and Partners on the market (contractors, operators etc.)
  • In charge of developing technical & commercial offers till contract signature.
  • Seeking out new opportunities in DC & AC traction power, existing and new customers in rail business: transit, urban transport authorities (railways, metro, tramway etc.).
  • Responsible for having excellent product & system knowledge.

As our ideal candidate (all genders), you

  • Have a balanced personality and like to handle this big opportunity successfully and with enthusiasm
  • Own good knowledge of the railway industry and its norms and specialities
  • Minimum of three years' selling experience in rail, industrial B2B environment with a focus in public tender
  • Are an English native speaker (other foreign language knowledge is a benefit)
  • Think market-oriented and have a sense of teamwork
  • Hold an engineering degree (preferably electrical/electronic engineering or similar)
