Job Description

Position Summary:

The Technical Product Manager is an integral member of the Product Management team that will become a subject matter expert on the technical architecture, existing tech debt, and technical functionality of the platform. This role will provide the business and software requirements in the form of user stories that will be used throughout the software development life cycle.

Deliverables and Performance Measures:

  • Partner with the architects, development and quality engineering to ensure all requirements are covered and quality is achieved.
  • Establish and maintain business and user requirements in the form of User Stories, use cases, and mock-ups with appropriate level of detail for the software development teams to execute on the project.
  • Work with architects and engineering to understand the technical design, existing technical debt, and new architecture plans for the Hexure platform.
  • Research and analyze architectural and tech debt requests with current functionality so that enhancements can be implemented that support existing functionality while improving and maintaining stability, performance, security, and self-service capabilities of the system.
  • Coordinate project specific communications to the architects, project stakeholders, and the team during the major milestones of the project including project discovery, story review and approval, development milestones, delivery and testing.

What will make you successful:

  • Prior Agile experience writing stories is preferred.
  • Leadership or mentor experience in executing all phases of the software development lifecycle including requirements/stories, sprint management, testing, documentation, and delivery.
  • Experience in the life insurance industry, either directly through sales/marketing support, the distribution channel, or through a vendor position.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Life and Annuity products and concepts.
  • Minimum of 5 years of technical story writing and experience as a software Subject Matter Expert.

Expected hours of Work:

This is a full-time position with regular office hours Monday through Friday. This position may work with the India office a few days a week and will require an earlier start to the day around 6:30MT. This position may require after work hours and occasional weekends, depending on work demands.
