Primary Responsibilities:

  • Support the capital related activities, as needed, in close partnership with the line of business product owner
  • Create and maintain product backlog aligned with the product roadmap
  • Conduct research and interviews to understand the business problem to be solved for backlog creation
  • Ensure solutions align with Specialty Benefits’ strategic direction and driving the expected business value
  • Manage demand intake, backlog prioritization, and alignment to execution
  • Engage with business leaders to understand the business strategy and create the business backlog
  • Provide vision and direction to the agile development team and stakeholders throughout the project
  • Build knowledge on the product/ capability supported and continuously update your knowledge on the product
  • Support PI Planning activities and establish product priorities for each PI
  • Work closely with business teams to strategize solutions that support long term business objectives
  • Work closely with developers and quality assurance analysts to ensure requirements are understood
  • Act as the liaison between business and development team to bring business ideas to life
  • Keep abreast with Agile/Scrum best practices and new trends
  • Provide an active role in mitigating impediments impacting successful team completion of Release/Sprint Goals
  • Serve as the Specialty Benefits Business Product Owner with overall accountability and ownership for managing multiple business capabilities within a line of business
  • Work to drive stakeholders to key decisions and communicate those decisions

Required Qualifications:

  • Proven ability to work with business leaders and enable strategy execution
  • Demonstrated experience in agile delivery methods
  • 8+ years of experience leading capability enablement and product development in a large-scale, highly matrixed team environment
  • Demonstrated experience in verbal and written communications and presentations at the executive level
  • Proven ability to lead and manage change initiatives
  • Experience working with tools like AHA , Rally or Jira


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with SAFe , LeSS or similar frameworks
  • Experience in the healthcare insurance domain

California, Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada, New York, Rhode Island, or Washington Residents Only: The salary range for California, Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada, New York, Rhode Island or Washington residents is $101,200 to $184,000. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
